Dodecyl polyoxyethylene ether AC-1215 (Lauryl amine polyoxyethylene ether) is a multifunctional nonionic surfactant that can exhibit cationic characteristics in acidic media. When used, it is generally directly added to the formulation system in liquid form and stirred until dissolved; its recommended dosage varies depending on the application field, typically ranging from 0.5% to 10%.

Detailed Description

Dodecyl polyoxyethylene ether AC-1215 (CAS No.: 26635-75-6) is a colorless to light yellow transparent liquid at room temperature, easily soluble in water and various organic solvents. Its usage method is very simple: in industrial formulation production, it is usually directly added as an auxiliary component to the mixing system and stirred evenly to function. When formulating textile printing and dyeing auxiliaries, it can be added to the working solution for circulation; in pesticide formulations, it is often used as an emulsifying dispersant during the mixing process of oil and water phases; in daily chemical products, it is generally added during the heating and stirring stage of the aqueous phase to synergize with other surfactants.

The core characteristic of this product lies in its molecular structure containing both tertiary amine groups and polyoxyethylene ether segments (EO number approximately 15). This not only provides excellent emulsifying, wetting, and dispersing capabilities of nonionic surfactants, but also transforms into a cationic surfactant in acidic media due to the protonation of amine groups, thus imparting additional functions such as antistatic properties, softening, and conditioning. With an HLB value of approximately 15.6 and a cloud point >100°C, it maintains stable performance under high temperature and a wide pH range.

As a mature product of Guoli Chemical, AC-1215 has been widely used in industries such as textile printing and dyeing, pesticide formulations, industrial cleaning, daily chemical care, and metalworking fluids, with advantages including hard water resistance, acid and alkali resistance, and flexible compatibility.

Application Recommendations

The following are typical recommended dosages of dodecyl polyoxyethylene ether AC-1215 in various major application fields (dosage should be optimized through experiments based on specific formulation and working conditions):

Application FieldFunctionRecommended Dosage (weight percentage of total formulation)
Textile Printing & Dyeing Leveling AgentImprove dyeing uniformity, reduce color spots1%~3%
Textile Antistatic AgentReduce fiber surface resistance0.5%~2%
Pesticide Emulsifiable Concentrate/Emulsion in WaterEmulsify and disperse, improve formulation stability3%~8%
Industrial Hard Surface CleanerSolubilization, wetting, penetration1%~5%
Daily Chemical Hair Care Products (Shampoo, Conditioner)Antistatic, conditioning0.5%~2%
Metalworking Fluids (Cutting Fluid, Rust Preventive Fluid)Emulsify, rust prevention2%~5%
Acidic System Compatibility ImproverEnhance compatibility, prevent stratification and precipitation1%~3%

Note: The above dosages are industry general reference ranges (data source: Guoli Chemical product database and industry application experience). Actual optimal dosage should be determined through small-scale and pilot experiments. In acidic formulations, the cationic characteristics of AC-1215 will be enhanced, and the dosage can be appropriately reduced.

Precautions

  • Safety Protection: AC-1215 causes skin irritation and serious eye irritation (GHS classification category 2). During operation, nitrile rubber or chloroprene rubber protective gloves, chemical safety goggles, and protective clothing must be worn to avoid direct contact.
  • Operating Environment: Operate in a well-ventilated area, avoid inhaling steam or mist. If a large amount of aerosol is formed, wear a combined organic vapor/particulate respirator.
  • Emergency Treatment: If skin contact occurs, immediately rinse with plenty of soap and water for at least 15 minutes. If enters eyes, hold eyelids open and rinse with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, and seek medical attention immediately. Do not orally administer anything to unconscious persons.
  • Storage Requirements: Store in a cool (5~35°C), dry, well-ventilated warehouse, keep container tightly sealed, away from strong oxidizers and strong acids. Shelf life is 12 months.
  • Environmental Tips: Toxic to aquatic organisms (Fish 96h LC50: 1–10 mg/L), although readily biodegradable, leakage into water bodies or soil must be strictly prevented.
