Octadecylamine Polyoxyethylene Ether AC-1815 (CAS No.: 26635-75-6) is a product obtained by addition polymerization of octadecylamine (stearylamine) as the initiator with 15 moles of ethylene oxide (EO). Its chemical name is Polyoxyethylene (15) octadecylamine. Its appearance is a white to light yellow waxy solid or paste, belonging to alcohol ether nonionic surfactants.
The uniqueness of this product lies in its molecular structure containing both tertiary amine groups and polyoxyethylene (PEO) chain segments. Under neutral or alkaline conditions, it exhibits typical nonionic surfactant characteristics; while under acidic conditions, the amine groups become protonated and exhibit cationic properties. This "ionic characteristic switching" ability gives it the synergistic advantages of both nonionic and cationic surfactants, with extremely wide chemical compatibility.
With excellent triple chemical resistance to acids, alkalis, and hard water, AC-1815 maintains high activity even under harsh working conditions. Its HLB value is moderate, with outstanding wetting and spreading ability and low foam characteristics, especially suitable for processing scenarios sensitive to foam, such as high-speed spinning and high-pressure jet dyeing processes.

AC-1815 is a core raw material for preparing high-performance high-temperature leveling agents. It has excellent migration and retardation effects on acid dyes, reactive dyes, and cationic dyes, significantly reducing dyeing defects such as color spots and color differences. At the same time, its excellent antistatic properties can effectively eliminate static buildup in synthetic fibers such as acrylic and polyester during spinning and weaving, reducing lapping and breakage.
In oil formulations for polyester, acrylic, and nylon fibers, AC-1815 acts as a smoothing agent and bundling agent, reducing the friction coefficient between fiber and metal and between fibers, ensuring smooth high-speed spinning and drawing processes, while giving the fibers good cohesion and antistatic protection.
Used as an efficient emulsifier and corrosion inhibitor in emulsifiable oils, semi-synthetic, and fully synthetic metalworking fluids. Its cationic characteristic allows it to form an oriented adsorption protective film on metal surfaces, effectively isolating moisture and oxygen, showing excellent rust and corrosion inhibition for various metals such as steel, iron, copper, and aluminum.
Used as an emulsifier in pesticide formulations such as emulsifiable concentrates, water emulsions, and microemulsions. It has good emulsifying and dispersing ability for various technical materials such as organophosphates and pyrethroids, enhancing the wetting and spreading of the spray liquid on plant leaf surfaces and insect body surfaces, improving pesticide bioavailability.
Can be used in personal care products such as shampoos and body washes, as a co-emulsifier and viscosity modifier, while its cationic characteristics give hair and skin excellent antistatic and softening effects.
In water-based and solvent-based coatings and printing ink systems, AC-1815 can effectively adsorb on the surface of pigment and filler particles, preventing flocculation and sedimentation, improving the tinting strength, gloss, and storage stability of the system.
Safety: According to GHS classification, this product can cause skin irritation (H315), serious eye irritation (H319), and respiratory irritation (H335). Protective gloves and goggles should be worn during operation, and work should be carried out in a well-ventilated area. In case of contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
Storage Conditions: It is recommended to store sealed in a cool, dry, well-ventilated warehouse, with storage temperature below 40°C, away from heat sources and strong oxidizing agents, avoiding direct sunlight and high humidity environments to prevent moisture absorption and caking. Under unopened conditions, the shelf life is 12 months.
