Question

How to store MOA-12 (AEO-12)? What is the shelf life?

Answer
2026-06-06 官方文档 MOA-12(AEO-12)

MOA-12 (AEO-12) should be stored sealed in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place. The recommended storage temperature is 5–40°C. The shelf life is 24 months under unopened conditions.

Detailed Description

MOA-12 (AEO-12) is a non-ionic surfactant that appears as a white to slightly yellow paste or waxy solid, with good physical stability. To ensure that the product maintains its stable performance during storage, standardized storage management requirements must be followed. The product itself is not flammable, but it should still be kept away from heat sources, sparks, and open flames, and it is advisable to store it separately from combustible materials.

If the product freezes under low temperature conditions, it does not need to be discarded. The product can be slowly thawed and stirred evenly before continued use, and its application performance will not be affected. The product is chemically stable and will not decompose or deteriorate under normal storage conditions. However, it should be avoided to coexist with strong oxidizers, strong acids, and strong alkalis to prevent accidental chemical reactions.

The product is readily biodegradable. When discarding, it should be disposed of by qualified waste treatment agencies in accordance with local/national regulations. Low concentrations entering the environment are less hazardous, but emissions should still be strictly controlled to avoid water pollution.

Storage Conditions and Shelf Life

Storage ParameterSpecific Requirement
Container RequirementKeep the container tightly closed to prevent moisture absorption and contamination
Storage EnvironmentCool, dry, and well-ventilated place
Recommended Temperature Range5–40 °C (avoid freezing or overheating)
Incompatible MaterialsAvoid coexistence with strong oxidizers, strong acids, and strong alkalis
Fire Source ManagementKeep away from heat sources, sparks, and open flames; it is advisable to store separately from combustible materials
Shelf LifeGenerally 24 months under unopened conditions
Freezing TreatmentCan still be used after slow thawing and uniform stirring

Application Recommendations

Before use, it is recommended to check whether the appearance is normal based on the product batch and storage time (should be a white to slightly yellow paste or waxy solid, without abnormal layering or discoloration). If the product has been stored for a long time, it can be appropriately stirred or gently heated to a flowable state before use to ensure uniform composition. After opening, the product should be used up as soon as possible, and the remaining product should be resealed and stored to minimize contact with air and moisture.

Precautions

  • After opening, it should be sealed as much as possible to avoid moisture absorption and caking.
  • Eating, drinking, or smoking is prohibited at the operation site; follow good industrial hygiene practices.
  • In case of leakage, small spills should be absorbed with inert absorbent materials (such as sand, vermiculite) and collected in closed containers; large spills require diking to prevent direct discharge into sewers or water bodies.
  • If the product accidentally contacts the eyes, immediately rinse with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes; if irritation persists, seek medical attention. This product only causes mild reversible irritation, which usually subsides within 24–48 hours.
