Penetrant JFC-1 (fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether) is not classified as a dangerous substance according to GHS standards. Its rat oral LD50 > 5000 mg/kg, indicating low acute toxicity. It has mild skin irritation (GHS category: Skin irritation 2) and mild eye irritation (GHS category: Eye irritation 2B). Although it has a high flash point, is non-flammable, and has no significant explosion hazard, it may decompose and release harmful gases at high temperatures; therefore, caution must be exercised during handling.
This product has good biodegradability and is not classified as a persistent organic pollutant, making it relatively environmentally friendly. However, waste disposal must still comply with national and local chemical disposal regulations. It must not be discharged into drainage systems or natural water bodies and should be collected and treated by qualified waste disposal agencies.
Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated warehouse. The ideal storage temperature is 5–40°C. Avoid prolonged exposure to extreme low temperatures (which may cause gelation or precipitation) or high temperatures. Keep containers tightly closed to prevent moisture absorption or contamination. It is recommended to use containers made of stainless steel, polyethylene (HDPE), polypropylene (PP), etc. Keep away from areas where food, beverages, and animal feed are stored. Avoid storage together with strong acids, strong bases, and strong oxidizing agents. It is recommended to equip spill containment pallets or secondary containment facilities.
| Incident Type | Response Measures |
|---|---|
| Skin contact | Immediately remove contaminated clothing; rinse thoroughly with plenty of running water and soap for at least 15 minutes; if irritation persists, seek medical attention immediately. |
| Eye contact | Lift eyelids and rinse slowly with plenty of running water or saline for at least 15 minutes; do not rub eyes; if wearing contact lenses, remove them quickly; seek professional medical evaluation promptly. |
| Inhalation | Move the patient to fresh air and maintain an open airway; if coughing, chest tightness, or other discomfort occurs, seek medical attention promptly. |
| Ingestion | Do NOT induce vomiting! Rinse mouth with water; immediately drink 1–2 glasses of water to dilute; if the patient is unconscious or vomiting, keep the head low to prevent choking; seek medical help as soon as possible. |
| Small spill | Absorb with inert absorbent material (e.g., sand, vermiculite, universal absorbent pads); collect in a closed container and dispose of according to regulations; rinse contaminated surface with plenty of water; avoid wash water entering drains or open waters. |
| Large spill | Control the source of the spill; contain and transfer to emergency containers using explosion-proof pumps; prevent entry into waterways, drainage systems, or soil; notify local environmental authorities. |
| Fire | This product is not flammable, but high-temperature decomposition may produce carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and irritating fumes; firefighters should wear self-contained breathing apparatus; suitable extinguishing media include water spray, foam, dry powder, and carbon dioxide; avoid direct water jets on the spilled material. |
