Laureth Phosphate MOA-3P is an anionic surfactant. Although its acute oral toxicity is low (LD50 > 2000 mg/kg), according to chemical classification, this product belongs to Skin irritation Category 2 (H315) and Serious eye irritation Category 2 (H319). In undiluted form, the product is acidic. Direct contact may cause skin redness, itching, and splashing into the eyes can cause severe discomfort and damage. Therefore, nitrile or butyl rubber impermeable gloves and chemical safety goggles must be worn throughout the operation, and the workplace should be well-ventilated.
This product has excellent electrolyte tolerance and chemical stability. However, attention should be paid to the addition sequence during formulation compounding: it is generally recommended to first add it to the aqueous phase and mix well, then gradually add other components. When neutralizing with alkaline substances (such as sodium hydroxide, triethanolamine, etc.), it should be added slowly under stirring conditions to avoid local overheating and splashing. After neutralization, the pH increases, and the water solubility and mildness of the product will be significantly improved, making it more suitable for personal care formulations.
The product should be stored in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated warehouse. It is recommended to store at room temperature and avoid extreme temperatures. Containers must be kept tightly sealed and should be resealed immediately after each use to prevent moisture absorption and contamination. Use containers made of corrosion-resistant materials compatible with the product (such as PE, stainless steel, etc.) for packaging, and avoid prolonged contact with easily corrodible materials like carbon steel. Keep away from heat sources, ignition sources, and incompatible substances. Although the product itself is not flammable, conventional chemical storage regulations should still be followed.
