Lauryl Alcohol Ether Phosphate MOA-3P is an anionic surfactant, chemically known as lauryl polyoxyethylene ether phosphate, with excellent emulsifying, dispersing, wetting, penetrating, and hard water resistance properties. It is widely used in multiple fields such as personal care, industrial cleaning, textile printing and dyeing, and metal processing.

Detailed Description

Lauryl Alcohol Ether Phosphate MOA-3P (also known as: Lauryl Polyoxyethylene (3) Ether Phosphate, Laureth-3 Phosphate, AEO-3 Phosphate; INCI name: Laureth-3 Phosphate) is an anionic surfactant produced by Guoli Chemical. It appears as a colorless to light yellow transparent liquid. The molecular structure of the product contains both phosphate ester groups and polyoxyethylene ether segments. This unique bifunctional structure endows it with excellent interfacial activity and broad compatibility.

This product has six core advantages: Excellent emulsifying and dispersing ability, which can significantly reduce oil-water interfacial tension and form a stable and fine emulsion system; Excellent wetting and penetrating property, allowing rapid spreading on solid surfaces; Outstanding electrolyte resistance and chemical stability, maintaining good performance even in acid, alkali, and high-concentration salt solutions; Good hard water resistance, making it difficult to form calcium soap deposits in water with high calcium and magnesium ion content; Mild and low irritation, suitable for use in personal care products; And excellent compatibility, allowing wide formulation with nonionic, anionic, and amphoteric surfactants for synergistic effects.

From a safety perspective, MOA-3P is a non-flammable substance with an acute oral toxicity (LD50) greater than 2000 mg\/kg. It is not classified as acutely toxic, but it can cause skin and eye irritation (H315\/H319). Protective gloves and goggles should be worn during operation.

Application Suggestions

MOA-3P has a wide range of applications, mainly including the following six scenarios:

  • Personal Care Products: Used in shampoo, shower gel, facial cleanser, etc., as a mild anionic surfactant and thickening aid, providing fine foam and refreshing skin feel while reducing formulation irritation.
  • Household and Industrial Cleaning: Used in hard surface cleaners, multi-purpose cleaners, industrial degreasers, etc., leveraging its penetrating, emulsifying, and degreasing capabilities to efficiently remove oil stains from metals, glass, ceramics, and other substrates.
  • Textile Printing and Dyeing: As a scouring agent, penetrant, and antistatic agent, it accelerates the penetration of working fluids in pretreatment processes such as desizing, scouring, and bleaching, improves impurity removal efficiency, and provides temporary antistatic properties to fibers.
  • Metalworking Fluids: Used in cutting fluids, grinding fluids, and rust preventives, as an emulsifier to stably disperse base oil in water while providing anticorrosion protection, reducing friction and metal corrosion.
  • Pesticide Formulations: As an emulsifying dispersant, it enables oil-phase pesticide active ingredients to form a stable emulsion in water, ensuring spontaneous emulsification and uniformity of the spray solution during field dilution.
  • Emulsion Polymerization: As a reactive anionic emulsifier, it participates in the polymerization process of systems such as acrylates and styrene-acrylic, improving the particle size distribution and mechanical stability of the polymer emulsion.

Precautions

The pH value (1% aqueous solution) of this product is 1.5–3.0, making it acidic. During operation, it is recommended to wear impermeable gloves (such as nitrile or butyl rubber gloves) and chemical safety goggles to avoid direct contact with skin and eyes. In case of accidental contact, immediately flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention if irritation persists. The product should be stored in a cool, dry, well-ventilated warehouse, with the container kept tightly closed, away from heat sources and open flames, and protected from direct sunlight and rain. After use, seal promptly to prevent moisture absorption and contamination.
