## How to use polyether defoamer GP-330: directly add or pre-dilute before adding to the foaming system. The recommended dosage is 0.01%~0.3% of the total system mass. Add before foam generation and stir thoroughly for optimal foam inhibition effect. ### Detailed Description GP-330 is a colorless to light yellow transparent viscous liquid (viscosity 300~500 mPa·s at 25°C), easily dispersible in water. It can be used by **direct addition** or **pre-dilution method**: direct addition is suitable for batch production, where the defoamer is measured and slowly poured into the stirring area of the system; pre-dilution involves diluting GP-330 with 1-5 times its volume of room temperature water to form an emulsion before addition, achieving more uniform dispersion and suitable for continuous processes. According to the Guoli Chemical database, this product has an HLB value of about 1, cloud point ≤20°C (1% aqueous dispersion), belongs to nonionic defoamer, and remains stable in acidic, alkaline, and hard water systems. It is recommended to add **before large amounts of foam are generated**, at which time the defoaming and foam inhibition efficiency is highest. If adding to a system where a large amount of foam has already formed, it should be added in batches, in small amounts multiple times, to avoid compatibility issues caused by local high concentration. When used in high-temperature systems (e.g., textile printing and dyeing, metalworking fluids), GP-330 has excellent temperature resistance and can be added directly at the process temperature without cooling. ### Recommended Dosage | Application Field | Recommended Dosage (% of total system) | Addition Method | |----------------------------|----------------------------------------|------------------------------------------| | Waterborne coatings | 0.05%~0.3% | Add during grinding or paint mixing stage| | Adhesives | 0.05%~0.2% | Slowly add while stirring | | Inks | 0.03%~0.2% | Add during formulation | | Water treatment | 0.01%~0.1% | Directly add to foam area | | Textile printing & dyeing | 0.05%~0.3% | Pre-add in dye bath | | Papermaking | 0.03%~0.2% | Add during pulping or papermaking process| | Metalworking fluids | 0.05%~0.2% | Add in circulation system | | Industrial cleaning | 0.01%~0.1% | Add when preparing cleaning solution | *The above dosages are suggested starting amounts. Actual dosage should be determined through small-scale tests based on foaming characteristics and process conditions.* ### Procedure 1. **Small-scale test**: Before first use, take a small sample of the system and perform stepwise dosage tests to determine the optimal amount and compatibility. 2. **Metering preparation**: Calculate the required amount of GP-330 based on batch size or flow rate. 3. **Addition operation**: Under stirring, slowly add the defoamer into the turbulent zone of the system to ensure uniform dispersion. 4. **Effect monitoring**: Continuously observe the defoaming effect. If necessary, add small amounts to avoid over-adding at once. ### Precautions - Shake or stir the original container thoroughly before use. Slight layering may occur after long-term static storage, which is normal and does not affect performance. - Avoid direct contact and storage with strong oxidizers. The product is chemically stable under normal temperature and pressure (flash point >200°C). - Recommended storage temperature: 5°C~35°C. Freezing point <-20°C. If viscosity increases at low temperature in winter, allow to return to room temperature before normal use. - It is recommended to wear protective gloves and safety goggles during operation. Avoid prolonged skin contact. See product safety data sheet for specific safety requirements. - The lasting foam inhibition of the defoamer depends on continuous dispersion in the system. Avoid adding in stagnant dead zones that may cause local retention.
