High-quality polyether F-6 is a nonionic castor oil polyoxyethylene ether surfactant (CAS: 61791-12-6), appearing as a colorless to light yellow transparent viscous liquid, with an HLB value of 12~14, exhibiting excellent defoaming and foam suppression performance and wide industrial application value.

Detailed Description

High-quality polyether F-6 (also known as: castor oil polyoxyethylene ether, emulsifier EL, ethoxylated castor oil) is a nonionic surfactant polymerized from castor oil and ethylene oxide, with a molecular formula of approximately C57H104O9·(C2H4O)n and an average molecular weight of about 3000. The product has an effective content of ≥99% and a solid content of ≥99%, belonging to high-purity polyether products.

As a nonionic surfactant, F-6 has good dispersion and solubility in water, and is also soluble in various organic solvents such as ethanol and aromatic hydrocarbons. Its HLB value is in the range of 12~14, and the cloud point can be adjusted according to the polymerization ratio, giving the product flexible formulation adaptability. The foam characteristic of the product is low foam, which makes it an ideal basic raw material in the field of defoamers.

F-6 has excellent chemical stability, maintaining stable properties at room temperature, with outstanding resistance to acids, alkalis, and hard water, maintaining high performance in a wide pH range and complex water conditions. The product is also hygroscopic, with a flash point above 230°C (closed cup). It is a non-hazardous chemical, non-irritating to skin and eyes, easily biodegradable, and meets green chemical requirements.

Application Suggestions

Based on the low-foam characteristics and HLB value range of 12~14 for hydrophilic-lipophilic balance, this product has wide applications in the following fields: as a core raw material in defoamer formulations, suitable for foam control in fermentation processes, papermaking and pulping, textile printing and dyeing, water-based coatings, and industrial wastewater treatment; in industrial low-foam cleaning agents for spray cleaning and high-pressure cleaning processes, combining wetting, penetration, and detergency; in metalworking fluids (such as cutting fluids and grinding fluids) as a lubricating and cooling component to reduce friction and processing temperature, while improving workpiece surface quality through good hard water resistance and emulsification stability.

The recommended addition amount should be determined through experiments based on specific application scenarios. In defoamer formulations, a small addition amount is usually sufficient to achieve rapid defoaming and long-term foam suppression. When compounding, pay attention to compatibility tests with other additives in the system. F-6 has wide compatibility and is not prone to adverse reactions with other additives.

Precautions

  • Storage Conditions: Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place, with recommended temperature 5°C~35°C, preventing freezing and high temperature exposure. Use closed containers made of stainless steel, glass, or HDPE; avoid using copper or aluminum containers.
  • Operating Protection: It is recommended to wear chemical-resistant gloves and safety goggles during operation, and keep the work area well ventilated. Although it is a non-hazardous chemical, prolonged direct skin contact should be avoided.
  • Shelf Life: The shelf life is 12 months from the production date under recommended storage conditions. Products beyond the shelf life must be re-tested and qualified before use.
  • Spill Handling: For small spills, use inert absorbent materials (such as diatomaceous earth, dry sand) to contain and collect, and prevent entry into sewers or water bodies. For large spills, immediately notify environmental authorities.
