Polyether L-42 is a high molecular weight polyether polyol. According to current transportation and hazardous chemical management regulations, it is not classified as a dangerous good. Its closed-cup flash point is above 200°C, so it is not classified as a flammable liquid, has no explosive properties, and is not an oxidizer. Based on the United Nations Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) criteria, this product is not classified as a health or environmental hazard. Its acute toxicity, skin corrosion/irritation, serious eye damage/irritation, respiratory or skin sensitization, germ cell mutagenicity, carcinogenicity, reproductive toxicity, and other endpoints do not meet the classification criteria.
Although this product has relatively high safety, as a fine chemical product, general safety specifications for industrial chemicals should still be strictly followed during handling. It is recommended to wear chemical safety goggles, protective gloves, and appropriate work clothing to avoid direct skin and eye contact. The workplace should be well-ventilated, using local exhaust or general ventilation to prevent aerosol accumulation. During operation, handle gently to avoid generating sprays or droplets, and wash hands thoroughly after operation.
From an environmental safety perspective, this product has good biodegradability, no bioaccumulation (Log Pow < 3), and exhibits low toxicity to aquatic organisms, meeting ecological safety requirements. In the event of a spill, inert absorbent materials (such as sand, vermiculite, or universal absorbent pads) can be used for cleanup, and precautions should be taken to prevent the spill from entering drains or water bodies.

Polyether L-42 is widely used in industrial and household low-foaming cleaners, dish rinse aids, metalworking fluids, defoamers, paint wetting and dispersing agents, textile pretreatment auxiliaries, and pesticide emulsifiers. Regardless of the application scenario, the above safety operating procedures should be followed. Especially in processes with a higher risk of aerosol generation, such as spray cleaning or high-pressure spraying, enhanced ventilation and protection should be ensured to avoid long-term inhalation of aerosols.
