Emulsifier A-103 is a nonionic surfactant, appearing as a light yellow to brownish yellow oily liquid or paste at room temperature. To ensure stable product quality and safe usage, control of the storage environment is crucial. First, the product must be stored in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated dedicated warehouse, away from heat sources, sparks, and open flames to prevent hazards caused by high temperature or ignition sources.
Container management is equally critical. After each use, the container should be immediately sealed to prevent moisture ingress that could cause product hygroscopic deterioration. The storage temperature should be strictly controlled within the range of 5–35°C, avoiding freezing (low temperature may cause product solidification and stratification) or overheating (high temperature may accelerate product oxidation and degradation). Additionally, keep away from incompatible substances such as strong oxidizers, acids, and bases to prevent harmful chemical reactions.
From a safety facility perspective, the storage area should be equipped with spill containment berms, with the floor made of impermeable materials, and suitable containment facilities should be provided to handle accidental spills. The storage site must have clear hazard warning signs and restrict access to unauthorized personnel. Regular inspections of containers for damage, corrosion, or leakage should be conducted; if any abnormality is found, the product should be immediately and safely transferred to an intact container.
| Storage Element | Specific Requirement |
|---|---|
| Environmental Requirement | Cool, dry, well-ventilated dedicated warehouse |
| Temperature Range | 5–35°C, avoid freezing or overheating |
| Container Management | Keep sealed, prevent moisture ingress, seal immediately after use |
| Substances to Avoid | Strong oxidizers, acids, bases and other incompatible substances |
| Ignition Source Control | Away from heat sources, sparks, and open flames |
| Safety Facilities | Spill containment berms, impermeable flooring, containment facilities, hazard warning signs |
| Regular Inspection | Inspect containers for damage, corrosion, or leakage; immediately and safely transfer if abnormal |
In actual production and use, it is recommended to establish a dedicated raw material inbound and outbound ledger, following the "first-in, first-out" principle to avoid long-term product accumulation. After opening, the product should be used as soon as possible. If long-term storage is needed, consider nitrogen blanketing to reduce contact with air and oxidation. In low-temperature winter conditions, the product may solidify or increase in viscosity. Before use, slowly warm it within the upper limit of the storage temperature range and stir evenly. Do not use open flames or high-temperature steam for rapid heating.
