If problems occur during the use of Emulsifier A-110, follow the steps below to troubleshoot and contact the Guoli Chemical professional technical team for support.
Quick Diagnosis and Troubleshooting of Common Problems
Emulsifier A-110 (Oleic Acid Polyoxyethylene Ester, OEO-110), as a nonionic surfactant, may encounter problems in practical applications mostly related to usage conditions, compounding systems, or storage conditions. It is recommended to first check the following aspects:
1. Poor emulsification effect or emulsion stratification——Please check whether the water temperature matches the oil phase. The HLB value of this product is 11-12, suitable for constructing O/W emulsion systems. If the required HLB value of the oil phase differs significantly from this product, it may be necessary to compound with other emulsifiers to adjust. It is recommended to check whether the total amount of emulsifier in the formulation is sufficient (generally recommended at 5%-15% of the oil phase mass) and whether the homogenization and emulsification process is adequate.
2. Abnormal appearance or fluidity of the product——This product is a light yellow to yellow transparent oily liquid at room temperature, with a melting point of approximately -5°C and a cloud point of 75-85°C. If cloudiness, stratification, or paste formation occurs, it is usually due to low storage temperature and is a reversible physical change. Simply place the product in an environment of 20-35°C to slowly warm up, stir evenly to restore, without affecting performance. The recommended storage temperature is 5°C to 35°C.
3. Cloudiness or precipitation when compounded with anionic systems——This product is a nonionic surfactant and can theoretically be compounded with anionic, cationic, nonionic, and amphoteric surfactants. However, if the compounded system has a high pH (strong alkaline conditions), it may affect the stability of the ester bond. This product is not resistant to strong alkalis. It is recommended to control the system pH within the range of 5-9 for use.
4. Excessive foaming affecting the process——Although this product is a low-foaming type, it may still foam under specific conditions (such as high-shear stirring, gas-containing liquid circulation). Properly reduce stirring intensity, or add a small amount of defoamer (such as silicone type) for synergistic use.

Application Recommendations
To ensure the optimal performance of Emulsifier A-110, it is recommended to refer to the following usage conditions for the respective application scenarios:
- Textile Scouring Oil/Spinning Oil: Recommended dosage is 3%-8% of the total formulation, compounded with smoothing agents and antistatic agents. The optimal emulsification effect is achieved at a usage temperature of 40-60°C.
- Cosmetic Creams/Lotions: Recommended dosage is 3%-6% of the oil phase mass. Compounding with fatty alcohols and co-emulsifiers (such as glyceryl monostearate) can result in a finer cream texture.
- Pesticide Emulsifiable Concentrates/Emulsions in Water: Typical dosage is 5%-15% (of total formulation). When preparing, it is recommended to first thoroughly mix this product with the oil phase, then slowly add the water phase while using high-shear emulsification.
- Metalworking Fluids: Used as an emulsifying base component, recommended dosage is 8%-20%. Compounding with rust inhibitors and extreme pressure agents to construct semi-synthetic or emulsion-type working fluids.
- Industrial Cleaners: Recommended dosage is 3%-10% in degreasing formulations. Used in conjunction with builders and alkaline agents, suitable for immersion or spray cleaning processes at 60-80°C.
- Emulsion Polymerization: As the primary emulsifier, the dosage is generally 1.5%-3% of the total monomer amount, obtaining polymer emulsions with uniform particle size and excellent mechanical stability.
How to Contact Guoli Chemical for Technical Support
If the problem cannot be resolved after the above checks, or if you need optimization suggestions for specific formulations, you can contact the technical service team of Hai'an Guoli Chemical Co., Ltd. through the following channels:
- Phone Consultation: Call the company's official contact number, transfer to the technical application department, and communicate directly with engineers regarding formulation issues. It is recommended to prepare the following information in advance: usage scenario, approximate formulation composition, specific abnormal phenomena (photos or samples are better), batch number (see product packaging barrel label).
- Sample Mailing for Analysis: If product abnormality is involved, send the unused original sample of the same batch along with the problematic application sample to the Guoli Chemical Quality Inspection Center for comparative testing and analysis by the laboratory.
- On-site Technical Service: For bulk purchases or long-term cooperative customers, Guoli Chemical can arrange application engineers to visit the site to troubleshoot process issues and assist in optimizing the usage plan.
- Documentation Support: Request the product's MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet), TDS (Technical Data Sheet), or COA (Certificate of Analysis), and verify the incoming material quality against technical indicators to ensure it is within the acceptable range.
Precautions
- When contacting technical support, please be sure to provide the product batch number (available on the packaging barrel label) for quick traceability and quality control data comparison.
- This product is non-hazardous, with relaxed transportation and storage conditions, but it is recommended to retain the original manufacturer's packaging labels to avoid mixing with other chemicals or unclear labeling leading to misuse.
