Usage of Peregal O-20 needs to be applied according to different application fields, usually dissolved into an aqueous solution first and then added into the system at the recommended ratio.
Detailed Description
Peregal O-20 is a white to slightly yellow waxy paste or solid at room temperature (melting point about 40-50°C). It is a non-ionic surfactant with stable chemical properties, resistant to acid, alkali, and hard water. When using, it is generally recommended to pre-dissolve it in hot water (50-60°C) and stir to prepare a stock solution of the desired concentration, to obtain a uniformly dispersed solution and avoid slow dissolution when directly added to cold water, which would affect the application effect.
The HLB value of this product is about 15-16 (according to the Guoli Chemical database), it has strong hydrophilicity, remains stable over a wide pH range (pH 5.0-7.0 for 1% aqueous solution), and can be compounded with anionic, cationic, and amphoteric auxiliaries. Due to its low-foaming property (foam height about 10-20 mm for 1% aqueous solution at 50°C), it is particularly suitable for industrial cleaning and spraying circulation systems where foam is strictly controlled.
Application Suggestions
The following are usage methods and recommended dosage references for each field (Note: The specific optimal dosage should be determined through small-scale tests based on the actual formula system):
- Textile printing and dyeing (leveling agent, dispersant): Dissolve Peregal O-20 in hot water to make a 5%-10% solution, and add 0.5-2 g/L based on the dye bath volume. When used with vat dyes and direct dyes, it can effectively slow down the dye uptake rate and prevent color unevenness and white cores.
- Pesticide formulations (emulsifier): Used in the formulation of emulsions in water (EW) or microemulsions (ME), the general dosage is 3%-8% of the total formulation. It is recommended to mix Peregal O-20 uniformly with the oil phase under heating, and then slowly add it to the water phase with high-speed shear emulsification to obtain a stable emulsion.
- Daily chemicals (creams, lotions, shampoos): As an O/W main emulsifier or co-emulsifier, the recommended dosage is 1%-5% of the total formulation. When used in combination with auxiliary emulsifiers such as fatty alcohols, first mix Peregal O-20 with the oil phase and heat to 50-55°C, then homogenize with the water phase, which can impart a fine and glossy appearance to the cream.
- Industrial and household liquid detergents: As a detergency component, the recommended dosage is 2%-8% of the total formulation. Simply mix with other surfactants and water in the formula, stir evenly, and it can significantly improve the removal of oil stains and sweat stains.
- Metal processing, papermaking, leather (penetrant, wetting agent): Recommended working solution concentration is 0.5-2 g/L. Add Peregal O-20 directly into the treatment solution, stir evenly, and utilize its penetration power of about 200-300 seconds (1% aqueous solution) to accelerate liquid penetration into the material interior, improving treatment efficiency and uniformity.

Precautions
- Dissolution method: It is recommended to use warm water at 50-60°C, add slowly with low-speed stirring to avoid excessive foaming and lumping. The product is slightly hygroscopic; after opening the package, use as soon as possible and reseal properly.
- Safety protection: This product is an irritant substance (GHS classification: Skin irritation category 2, Serious eye irritation category 2A, Respiratory tract irritation category 3). Wear protective gloves, goggles or face shield (P280) and ensure good ventilation (P271).
- Storage conditions: Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated warehouse, keep containers tightly closed, away from incompatible substances such as strong oxidizers, strong acids, and strong alkalis, and avoid heat, moisture, and direct sunlight.
- First aid measures: In case of skin contact, wash immediately with soap and plenty of water (P302+P352); in case of eye contact, rinse cautiously with water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention promptly (P305+P351+P338); if inhaled, move to fresh air (P312).
