Answer
2026-05-17 官方文档 OP-30辛基酚聚氧乙烯醚

OP-30 is a nonionic surfactant with a high HLB value (17). Its chemical name is Octylphenol Polyoxyethylene (30) Ether. It is mainly used in industrial formulations as a high-efficiency emulsifier, wetting dispersant, and detergent.

Detailed Description

OP-30 Octylphenol Polyoxyethylene Ether (CAS No.: 9036-19-5) is a nonionic surfactant produced by the addition polymerization of octylphenol with approximately 30 moles of ethylene oxide (EO), with a molecular weight of about 1526. Due to the long hydrophilic polyoxyethylene chain in its molecular structure, its HLB value is as high as 17, and its cloud point exceeds 100°C. Therefore, it is highly soluble in water and exhibits excellent chemical stability in aqueous solutions. It maintains stable performance in high-concentration acid, alkali solutions, and hard water, and does not easily react with calcium or magnesium ions to form precipitates.

The product appears as a white to slightly yellow waxy solid or paste (melting point: approximately 45-55°C), with an active content of ≥99% and a free alcohol content of ≤0.2%, indicating extremely high purity. With both hydrophilic and hydrophobic groups in its molecular structure, OP-30 demonstrates exceptional versatility: strong emulsifying power for various oil-phase substances, forming highly stable emulsions; effectively reducing liquid surface tension, providing excellent wetting and penetration properties; and strongly adsorbing onto solid particle surfaces, preventing particle aggregation through steric hindrance, thereby achieving efficient dispersion and cleaning.

OP-30 Octylphenol Polyoxyethylene Ether produced by Guoli Chemical is packaged in 20kg woven bags, with minimal performance variation between batches, offering reliable assurance for precise compounding of end products. It is widely used in various industries, including pesticide formulations, textile printing and dyeing, industrial cleaning, emulsion polymerization, metal processing, and petroleum demulsification.

Application Suggestions

OP-30 is suitable for various industrial formulations requiring high emulsifying power, good water solubility, and chemical stability:

  • Pesticide Formulations: Used as a nonionic emulsifier in the preparation of emulsifiable concentrates for organophosphorus, pyrethroid, and other pesticides. It allows automatic dispersion into stable emulsions upon contact with water, ensuring effective efficacy.
  • Emulsion Polymerization: Provides micellar nucleation sites in the emulsion polymerization of monomers such as acrylates and styrene-acrylics, generating polymer emulsions with uniform particle size and high stability. It is a key additive in the production of architectural coatings and adhesives.
  • Industrial Cleaning: With excellent detergency, emulsification, and dispersion performance, it is used for degreasing metal surfaces, cleaning hard surfaces, and in household liquid detergents. The recommended dosage depends on formulation requirements.
  • Textile Printing and Dyeing: Acts as a wetting agent and penetrant in processes such as desizing, scouring, bleaching, and dyeing, rapidly reducing surface tension to promote uniform penetration of the working solution, while also providing leveling effects.
  • Metalworking Fluids: Used as an emulsifier and lubricant component in water-based cutting and grinding fluids. It forms stable microemulsions with base oils, providing cooling, lubrication, and rust prevention functions.
  • Petroleum Demulsification: Serves as a surfactant component in composite demulsifiers for crude oil dehydration and desalting. It promotes water droplet coalescence and separation by reducing the strength of the oil-water interfacial film.
  • Coatings and Inks: Acts as a wetting dispersant, adsorbing onto pigment surfaces to reduce attraction between pigment particles, preventing flocculation, floating, and flooding, thereby improving storage stability and tinting strength of latex paints and printing inks.

Precautions

  • Health Hazards: Harmful if swallowed (H302). Causes skin and eye irritation (H315, H319). It is recommended to wear chemical safety goggles, nitrile rubber gloves, and protective clothing during operation, and avoid inhalation of dust or mist.
  • Environmental Hazards: Harmful to aquatic life (H402). Do not discharge the product directly into sewers, surface water, or groundwater systems.
  • Storage Conditions: Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated dedicated warehouse, away from ignition sources, heat sources, and direct sunlight. Keep containers tightly closed. Avoid high temperatures or freezing. Recommended storage temperature should be within the range specified in the product datasheet.
  • First Aid Measures: In case of skin contact, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water and soap for at least 15 minutes. In case of eye contact, rinse continuously with running clean water or saline for at least 15 minutes and seek immediate medical attention. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting; rinse mouth with clean water immediately and call medical emergency services.
