OPP-10 is prepared by introducing phosphate ester groups through phosphorylation reaction using octylphenol polyoxyethylene ether (OP-10) as raw material. This product is not a single chemically pure substance, but a mixture composed of monoester, diester and a small amount of free phosphoric acid, among which the monoester and diester are the main effective components for interfacial activity. The product appearance is a light yellow to yellow viscous liquid.
From the molecular structure perspective, the chemical structure of its main component can be divided into three functional parts: octylphenol group (providing hydrophobicity), polyoxyethylene ether chain segment (average about 10 EO units, providing hydrophilicity and wetting/penetrating properties), and phosphate ester group (conferring anionic characteristics and antistatic/anti-rust functions). It is this unique structure of "nonionic segment + anionic group" that endows OPP-10 with the dual characteristics of both nonionic and anionic surfactants.
As an anionic surfactant, the effective active ingredient content of OPP-10 is generally above 95% (based on industrial grade product), with CAS No. 51811-79-1. Its molecule contains both ether bonds (C-O-C) and phosphate ester bonds (P-O-C), giving it excellent acid and alkali resistance, hard water tolerance, and good emulsifying, dispersing, wetting and penetrating properties.

Due to its combination of nonionic and anionic characteristics, the composition structure of OPP-10 makes it perform excellently in the following scenarios: as an antistatic agent and scouring agent in textile dyeing and printing, as an emulsifying anti-rust agent in metalworking fluids, as an emulsifying dispersant for heavy oil stains in industrial cleaning, and as an emulsifying synergist in pesticide formulations. It is recommended to adjust the dosage according to the specific formulation system, generally 2% to 10% of the total formulation.
