Isomeric alcohol ether phosphate E-1310P is a high-performance anionic surfactant, chemically named isotridecanol polyoxyethylene (10) ether phosphate. It combines excellent extreme pressure lubrication with penetrating and wetting capabilities, and is core used in metalworking fluids, textile printing and dyeing, leather degreasing, pesticide emulsification, and industrial cleaning.

Detailed Description

Isomeric alcohol ether phosphate E-1310P (also known as isotridecanol ether phosphate, C13 isomeric alcohol ether phosphate) is a phosphate ester surfactant developed and produced by Guoli Chemical. Its molecular structure is the product of esterification of isotridecanol polyoxyethylene (10) ether and phosphoric acid, containing a mixture of monoester and diester, with a monoester content of no less than 60%. At room temperature, it appears as a colorless to light yellow transparent liquid, easily soluble in water, with a slight characteristic odor, and belongs to the anionic surfactant category.

The core advantage of this product lies in its multifunctional properties: on one hand, it forms a tough protective film on metal surfaces, providing excellent extreme pressure anti-wear lubrication performance; on the other hand, it possesses strong penetration and wetting abilities, allowing it to spread quickly and penetrate tiny gaps. In addition, it remains stable over a wide pH range, showing good tolerance to acids, alkalis, and hard water media. It also has emulsifying, dispersing, and detergent properties, effectively simplifying formulation systems and reducing overall application costs.

From a safety and environmental perspective, the product's acute oral toxicity (rat LD50) is >2000 mg/kg, falling into the low to moderate toxicity range; its biodegradation rate is >60% (OECD 301 method), meeting biodegradable standards. It has relatively low toxicity to aquatic organisms, but direct contact can cause skin and eye irritation (GHS classification: skin irritant category 2, eye irritant category 2), so appropriate protective equipment must be worn during operation.

Application Suggestions

  • Metalworking Fluids (Cutting Fluids, Grinding Fluids) – Extreme Pressure Lubricant: As the core extreme pressure anti-wear component in water-based or semi-synthetic systems, it provides excellent boundary lubrication protection, reduces tool wear, and improves machining accuracy and workpiece surface finish. Recommended dosage is adjusted according to formulation requirements, typically 5%~15% of the concentrate.
  • Textile Printing and Dyeing Pretreatment – Scouring Agent, Penetrant: Enhances fiber penetration and wetting ability, efficiently removes impurities such as cotton wax and size from fibers, improves treatment uniformity and whiteness during scouring and bleaching processes, suitable for high-temperature and alkaline pretreatment processes.
  • Leather Processing – Degreasing Agent: Quickly emulsifies and removes natural fats from raw hides, achieving thorough degreasing without affecting leather softness, suitable for wet processing stages such as soaking and liming.
  • Pesticide Formulations – Emulsifier: As a key component of the emulsification system, it can formulate stable and uniform emulsifiable concentrates or microemulsions, ensuring the wetting and spreading of the diluted pesticide on crops and the effectiveness of the active ingredients.
  • Industrial Cleaning and Household Chemicals – Surfactant Component: Combines excellent oil removal, detergency, and low foaming properties, suitable for heavy-duty industrial cleaning and metal pretreatment, can improve cleaning efficiency and reduce the risk of workpiece corrosion.

Precautions

  • This product is acidic (1% aqueous solution pH about 2.0~3.0), irritating to skin and eyes. During operation, wear chemical safety goggles, nitrile rubber gloves, and protective work clothing to avoid direct contact.
  • It is recommended to store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place at 5°C~40°C, keep containers tightly sealed, and keep away from incompatible materials such as strong oxidizers, strong acids, and strong alkalis; storage containers should be made of stainless steel, polyethylene (PE), or polypropylene (PP), avoiding carbon steel, aluminum, or copper containers.
  • In case of accidental eye contact, immediately rinse with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention; in case of spillage, collect using inert absorbent materials (such as sand), and do not discharge wastewater directly into sewers or surface water.
  • The low foaming characteristic of this product is suitable for industrial scenarios requiring rapid foam suppression, but compatibility should be evaluated in formulations requiring high foam levels.
