Detailed Description

Polyether L-35 (international common name: Poloxamer 105, CAS: 68439-50-9) is a block copolymer of ethylene oxide (EO) and propylene oxide (PO) with a molecular weight of approximately 1900. It belongs to the category of difunctional nonionic surfactants. Its unique EO/PO block structure imparts low foaming and high dynamic wetting characteristics, enabling rapid reduction of surface tension in aqueous systems with minimal foam generation.

The pH value of this product is neutral (5.0~7.5), with a cloud point as high as 73~77°C, maintaining activity even under high-temperature conditions. It has extremely high purity (active content ≥99%), low free alcohol content (≤0.5%), and both the acid value and iodine value are controlled at very low levels, indicating stable chemical properties and resistance to oxidative degradation. Its density is approximately 1.05~1.06 g/cm³, and the solidification point is below 0°C, remaining liquid at room and low temperatures for convenient handling.

In terms of safety, Polyether L-35 exhibits extremely low toxicity (oral LD₅₀ in rats >5 g/kg), is non-irritating to the skin, and causes only minimal eye irritation. Its flash point is >100°C, and it is not classified as a hazardous chemical, making it very safe under normal industrial handling conditions.

Due to its high HLB value (18~23), extremely low foaming, and moderate cloud point, Polyether L-35 is particularly suitable for the following scenarios:

  • Coatings & Inks: Recommended addition amount: 0.1%~0.5%. Acts as a low-foaming dynamic wetting agent, effectively preventing cratering, improving substrate wetting, and not affecting the defoaming performance of the system.
  • Industrial Cleaning: Recommended addition amount: 1%~5%. Used in combination with anionic or nonionic surfactants to enhance penetration and detergency efficiency.
  • Metalworking Fluids: Recommended addition amount: 2%~8%. Serves as an emulsifying stabilizer and lubricity additive to improve the overall performance of the working fluid.
  • Textile Dyeing & Printing: Recommended dosage: 0.5~2 g/L. Acts as a penetrating and leveling agent, suitable for low-foaming processes such as jet dyeing.
  • Agrochemical Formulations: Used as an emulsifying and dispersing auxiliary. Recommended addition amount: 3%~10% (based on oil phase) to enhance spreading and adhesion of the spray solution.

Notes

  • Store in a cool, dry place. Recommended temperature: 5°C~40°C. Keep the container sealed to prevent moisture absorption.
