XPO-5 (Triphenylethylene Phenol Polyoxyethylene Ether Ammonium Sulfate) is a light yellow to brownish yellow transparent viscous liquid, belonging to anionic surfactants. The stock solution is in a viscous state, and in practical use, it usually needs to be pre-diluted or mixed uniformly with other formulation components before being added to the system. This product has excellent acid and alkali resistance and hard water adaptability, can be used under a wide pH range, and is not easily deactivated in hard water, making it stable in complex water quality and formulation systems.
Depending on the application field, the usage of XPO-5 varies: In pesticide formulations, it is used as an emulsifier, usually in combination with oily active ingredients and nonionic emulsifiers; in emulsion polymerization, it participates as a system emulsifier; in textile auxiliaries and industrial cleaning, it can be directly added to the working solution as a functional component.
XPO-5 is used as a high-efficiency anionic emulsifier in pesticide formulations (such as emulsifiable concentrates, aqueous emulsions, microemulsions, etc.). It is recommended to be used in combination with nonionic emulsifiers (such as agricultural emulsifier 600 series, 700 series, etc.). The typical anionic/nonionic blending ratio is 1:2 to 1:4, and the total emulsifier dosage is generally 5%~15% of the total formulation, depending on the properties of the active ingredient. For use, simply mix XPO-5 evenly with the active ingredient, solvent, and nonionic emulsifier.
Used in emulsion polymerization systems such as acrylic, styrene-acrylic, and vinyl acetate-acrylic. The recommended dosage is 1%~4% of the total monomer amount. It can be added all at once in the kettle at the initial stage of polymerization, or partially added continuously during the reaction. XPO-5 can be used alone or in combination with nonionic emulsifiers (such as XPO series nonionic products) to better control latex particle size and emulsion stability.
Used as a wetting agent or emulsifier in textile pretreatment and dyeing processes. The recommended working solution concentration is 0.5~3 g/L. In the pretreatment scouring process, it can be combined with alkali agents and chelating agents; when used as a leveling agent or penetrant in dyeing, it can be directly added to the dye bath and stirred evenly.
Used in heavy-duty cleaning formulations such as metal degreasers and hard surface cleaners. The recommended addition amount in the formulation is 2%~8%. It can be combined with nonionic surfactants, builders, chelating agents, etc., to improve overall detergency. The recommended usage temperature is within the range of room temperature to 80°C, with better detergency at higher temperatures.
