Product Overview

Castor Oil Polyoxyethylene Ether EL-90, also known as Polyoxyethylene (90) Castor Oil (CAS 61791-12-6), is a highly effective nonionic surfactant. It combines outstanding emulsifying, dispersing, solubilizing, lubricating and antistatic capabilities, making it widely applicable as an industrial emulsifier, pesticide emulsifier, chemical fiber oil agent, textile auxiliary, emulsion polymerization emulsifier, detergent, cosmetic solubilizer, metalworking fluid additive and leather auxiliary. It meets diverse formulation requirements. Guoli Chemical relies on advanced production processes to deliver consistent quality products and professional technical support, helping customers optimize formulations and enhance performance.

Performance Features

  • High HLB and excellent water solubility: The high degree of ethoxylation imparts strong hydrophilicity, forming clear aqueous solutions and stable O/W emulsions across a wide concentration range.
  • Outstanding emulsifying and dispersing power: Effectively emulsifies various oils and fats including mineral oils, vegetable oils and synthetic esters, producing fine and stable emulsions with excellent storage stability.
  • Strong solubilizing capacity: Effectively solubilizes essential oils, fragrances and lipophilic active ingredients into transparent aqueous systems, suitable for clear cosmetic and personal care formulations.
  • Good lubricity and antistatic properties: Provides fiber-to-fiber and fiber-to-metal lubrication as well as static charge dissipation in synthetic fiber processing and textile finishing applications.
  • Excellent compatibility: Broadly compatible with anionic, cationic and other nonionic surfactants, as well as with common formulation ingredients including builders, solvents and preservatives.

Application Guidelines

  1. Industrial Emulsifier: Recommended dosage 3%-12% of oil phase weight. Add to oil phase then slowly add water with stirring, or pre-dissolve in water at 40-60°C.
  2. Pesticide Emulsifier: Typically 5%-15% in EC and EW formulations, often blended with anionic emulsifiers such as calcium dodecylbenzene sulfonate for optimal emulsion performance.
  3. Textile Auxiliary: As a chemical fiber oil component, typically 0.2%-0.8% of working solution. As a leveling agent, 0.05%-0.3% relative to dyebath.
  4. Cosmetic Solubilizer: For solubilizing fragrances and essential oils, typical ratio of solubilizer to oil is 3:1 to 5:1; pre-mix with oil before adding to the water phase.
  5. Metalworking Fluid: 1%-5% of total formulation as an emulsifier and lubricity additive for soluble oil and semi-synthetic metalworking fluids.

Packaging and Storage

  • Packaging: 50kg plastic drum, 200kg plastic drum, or IBC tote. Custom packaging available upon request.
  • Storage: Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area. Keep container tightly closed. Avoid direct sunlight. Recommended storage temperature: 5-35°C. Shelf life: 24 months in unopened original packaging.
  • Transportation: Non-hazardous. Protect from moisture and extreme temperatures during transport.

Castor Oil Ethoxylate EL-90 Applications

EL-90 combines outstanding emulsifying, dispersing, solubilizing, lubricating and antistatic capabilities. Key applications:

  • Industrial emulsifier: For mineral oil, vegetable oil and synthetic ester emulsification in textile, leather and metalworking industries.
  • Pesticide emulsifier: In EC, EW and ME formulations with excellent emulsifying power and electrolyte tolerance. Dosage: 5%-15%.
  • Chemical fiber oil agent: Provides lubrication, antistatic and cohesion properties in synthetic fiber spinning. Dosage: 0.2%-0.8% in oil solution.
  • Textile auxiliary: As a leveling agent, softener and antistatic agent in fabric processing.
  • Cosmetic solubilizer: For solubilizing fragrances and essential oils into clear aqueous systems. Solubilizer-to-oil ratio: 3:1 to 5:1.
  • Metalworking fluid: As an emulsifier and lubricity additive. Dosage: 1%-5%.
