Emulsifier SG-100 (PEG-100 Stearate) is a non-ionic surfactant with stable chemical properties, generally reliable in practical applications. However, during use, a series of technical issues related to process or formulation may still arise, such as: unsatisfactory emulsification effect, emulsion layering or demulsification, incomplete dissolution, poor compatibility, abnormal foaming, etc. These problems are usually related to the formulation system, process conditions, or storage method, rather than a defect in the product itself.
When problems occur, it is recommended to first conduct the following self-checks: ① Check the product appearance — Normally it should be a white to slightly yellow waxy solid. If significant discoloration, odor, or severe caking is observed, it may indicate improper storage (recommended storage temperature: 5°C to 40°C, avoid direct sunlight and moisture); ② Confirm dosage and HLB value compatibility — SG-100 has a high HLB value suitable for O\/W emulsification systems. If it does not match the HLB value of the oil phase, emulsification instability may occur; ③ Check process conditions — Whether it is fully dissolved and dispersed at the appropriate temperature, whether the feeding sequence is correct, whether mixing is uniform, etc.
If the problem persists after self-checks, Guo Li Chemical provides comprehensive technical support channels. You can contact our technical team via official website, customer service hotline, email, or directly contact your dedicated sales manager. We recommend that you prepare the following information when contacting us to quickly identify the issue: product batch number, formulation system used, process parameters, description of the problem phenomenon (photos or samples are preferred).

Cosmetics and Personal Care Products: When used as an O\/W emulsifier, it is recommended to mix SG-100 with the oil phase and heat to 70-75°C, while heating the water phase to the same temperature. Then slowly add the oil phase to the water phase under stirring, homogenize thoroughly, and cool. Note that compounding with auxiliary emulsifiers with low HLB values (such as PEG-2 Stearate, etc.) can significantly improve emulsion stability.
Textile Industry: When used as a softener, it is recommended to prepare a 5%-15% emulsion before use, applicable for padding or exhaust processes. Its excellent hard water resistance ensures stable softening effects under different water quality conditions. It also has antistatic properties, suitable for finishing synthetic fibers and blended fabrics.
Plastic Industry: As an internal lubricant, the addition amount is usually 0.2%-1.0% of the resin weight and should be uniformly dispersed during the mixing stage.
Pesticide Formulations: When used as an emulsifier, it is recommended to account for 2%-8% of the formulation. The specific dosage should be determined through experiments based on the type of active ingredient and formulation requirements.
