Answer

MOA-23 (AEO-23) is mainly applied in seven industries: textile printing and dyeing, industrial cleaning, household washing, cosmetics, leather processing, papermaking, and emulsion polymerization.

Detailed Description

MOA-23 (Laureth-23) is a highly polymerized nonionic fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether surfactant with an HLB value of about 16 to 17, appearing as a white waxy solid. Its core functions include excellent emulsifying ability, outstanding wetting and dispersing properties, as well as strong resistance to acids, alkalis, and hard water. It has good compatibility with anionic, cationic, and amphoteric surfactants.

This product is used as a leveling agent and dispersant in textile printing and dyeing to prevent dye aggregation, suitable for high-temperature and high-pressure dyeing processes; in industrial cleaning, it serves as a core component of metal degreasers, rapidly stripping heavy oil and carbon deposits; in household detergents, it provides emulsification, decontamination, and anti-redeposition properties; in cosmetics, it functions as an O/W emulsifier and solubilizer; in leather processing, it is used for raw hide degreasing; in the paper industry, it is used for waste paper deinking; in emulsion polymerization, it provides stable emulsification for acrylic ester, styrene-acrylic, and other systems.

Selection Recommendations

MOA-23, due to its high cloud point, is particularly suitable for high-temperature operating environments (e.g., high-temperature and high-pressure dyeing). Its high HLB value (16 to 17) makes it the preferred choice for oil-in-water (O/W) emulsification systems. If stronger penetration is required in the formulation, it can be compounded with lower-polymerization-degree AEO series.

Precautions

  • GHS classification: Skin irritation (H315), serious eye irritation (H319). Wear protective gloves and goggles during operation.
  • Softening may occur during high-temperature seasons, which is a normal physical phenomenon and does not affect quality.
  • Recommended storage temperature: 5°C to 40°C, sealed and protected from light.
