MOA-9P (Lauryl Alcohol Polyoxyethylene Ether Phosphate, CAS: 39464-66-9) is an anionic surfactant produced by phosphation of lauryl alcohol polyoxyethylene ether, with a molecular weight of approximately 650 and a molecular formula that can be expressed as C12-14H25-29O(C2H4O)nH (n≈9). This product appears as a colorless to light yellow transparent liquid, is easily soluble in water, has a density of about 1.05 at 25°C, a kinematic viscosity of about 100-200 mm²/s, and is a medium-viscosity liquid. Its active content is ≥95%, solid content ≥98%, free alcohol ≤3%, free phosphoric acid ≤2%, with strict quality control.
From a structural perspective, MOA-9P possesses both non-ionic segments (polyoxyethylene chain) and anionic groups (phosphate ester group), with monoester content ≥80%, diester content ≤20%, and combined phosphorus content of 8-12% (calculated as P2O5). The acid value of the product is 130~170 mgKOH/g, saponification value about 230~260 mgKOH/g, hydroxyl value ≤5 mgKOH/g, iodine value ≤2, unsaturation ≤0.5 meq/g, indicating extremely low unsaturated bond content in the molecular structure and good chemical stability. It should be noted that its phosphate ester bond is not resistant to strong acid or alkali environments and is prone to hydrolysis under extreme pH conditions.
In terms of surface activity indicators, the HLB value of MOA-9P is 11-12, the surface tension of a 1% aqueous solution is about 30-35 mN/m (25°C), and the critical micelle concentration (CMC) is about 0.01-0.1 g/L, showing good surface activity efficiency. The pH of both 1% and 5% aqueous solutions is in the range of 1.5~3.0, exhibiting acidic characteristics. The foaming performance of the product is moderate foam with good stability, excellent penetrating power, flash point >150°C, slight hygroscopicity, melting point below 0°C, and remains liquid within the normal usage temperature range, facilitating handling and formulation.
