Peregal O-80 (CAS No.: 68439-49-6), full chemical name C16-18 alcohol polyoxyethylene (80) ether, also known as Peregal O80, fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene (80) ether, etc., is a high-performance nonionic surfactant produced by Hai'an Guoli Chemical Co., Ltd. The product appears as a white to slightly yellow flake or waxy solid, with a molecular weight of about 3800 and an ionic type of nonionic. Its molecular structure consists of a long-chain fatty alcohol (C16-18) providing the lipophilic skeleton, and about 80 oxyethylene (EO) units giving it strong hydrophilic ability. Therefore, its HLB value is as high as 18.5, making it a typical O/W (oil-in-water) emulsifier.
The core advantage of Peregal O-80 lies in its multiple functions including emulsification, wetting, dispersion and solubilization. It can effectively reduce the surface tension of aqueous solutions (about 35~40 mN/m at 1 g/L), build long-term stable oil-in-water emulsion systems, and maintain excellent chemical stability in acid, alkali and high-hardness water. At the same time, this product has low foaming characteristics, does not easily generate large amounts of foam during use, which facilitates subsequent process operations. Its safety performance is outstanding: acute oral toxicity LD50 > 5000 mg/kg (practically non-toxic), non-irritating to skin and eyes, non-sensitizing, and easily biodegradable (degradation rate > 60% in 28 days), meeting modern environmental requirements.
As a general-purpose industrial surfactant, Peregal O-80 is used across multiple manufacturing fields. In textile printing and dyeing, it serves as an excellent leveling agent and penetrating agent; in daily chemicals, it is an ideal emulsifying stabilizer for O/W formulations such as creams and lotions; in pesticide formulations, it helps uniform dispersion of active ingredients and improves dilution stability in the field; in industrial cleaning, metalworking fluids, emulsion polymerization, paper deinking and leather processing, it also plays an indispensable role in wetting, dispersion and emulsification.

Textile Printing and Dyeing: Used as leveling agent, dispersant and penetrating agent, recommended for pretreatment, dyeing and finishing of cellulose fibers, synthetic fibers and their blends, effectively improving dye uptake uniformity and fabric hand feel.
Daily Chemical Products: In O/W emulsion systems such as creams, lotions, shampoos and body washes, it is suggested to be used as primary emulsifier or co-emulsifier, leveraging its high HLB value to build stable and fine emulsion texture. The recommended dosage is generally 1%~5% of the total formulation, which needs to be optimized according to the type and content of oil phase.
Pesticide Formulations: Suitable for emulsifiable concentrates (EC), oil-in-water emulsions (EW), suspension concentrates (SC) and other formulations. As an emulsifying and dispersing component, it can uniformly disperse the active ingredient in water or oil phase, improving dilution stability in the field. It is recommended to be used in combination with other low HLB emulsifiers for optimal emulsification effect.
Industrial Cleaning: Added as a wetting and solubilizing aid in hard surface cleaning formulations for metals, glass, plastics, enhancing detergency and soil suspension capacity.
Metalworking Fluids: Acts as an emulsifier and lubricating component in water-based cutting fluids and grinding fluids, helping to form stable working emulsions and improving cooling and extreme pressure lubrication performance.
Emulsion Polymerization: Used as a reactive emulsifier to ensure uniform particle nucleation and narrow particle size distribution, suitable for emulsion polymerization systems of monomers such as acrylates and styrene.
Paper and Leather: In waste paper deinking process, promotes ink detachment and fiber rewetting; in leather processing, used as a component of degreasing and fatliquoring agents, imparting soft and full hand feel to leather.
