OP-10 octylphenol polyoxyethylene ether, with the national standard number C8H17C6H4O(CH2CH2O)nH, where n is approximately 10 and a molecular weight of about 647. At room temperature, the product appears as a colorless to pale yellow transparent liquid (may be pasty at lower temperatures). Due to its excellent emulsifying power, wetting and penetrating properties, and dispersing and detergency, it is widely used in industrial cleaning, textile printing and dyeing, and pesticide formulations. It is an ideal substitute for Triton X-100.
As a nonionic surfactant, OP-10 has strong chemical stability and can maintain stable surface activity over a wide range of acid-base conditions and in hard water. Its hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB) value is 13.5, and the cloud point is between 65~70°C, which gives it excellent solubility and application effects in aqueous solutions. It is readily soluble in water and exhibits outstanding wetting and penetrating abilities.
From safety and environmental perspectives, this product is stable under normal conditions. However, like all chemicals, contact with strong oxidizing agents should be avoided. It has a high flash point (>230°C) and is not easily flammable, but it is still recommended to operate in a well-ventilated environment. The product has long-term adverse effects on aquatic organisms, so untreated discharge is strictly forbidden.

As a nonionic surfactant with high active content, OP-10 performs excellently in various applications. In industrial and household cleaning, it is recommended for use in metal degreasers and hard surface cleaner formulations, leveraging its strong wetting and oil-emulsifying capabilities. In textile printing and dyeing, it can be used as a penetrating agent and leveling agent to help dyes adhere uniformly. In pesticide formulations (such as emulsifiable concentrates and emulsions), it acts as an efficient emulsifier to stably disperse active ingredients. Additionally, it can be used as a wetting and dispersing agent in water-based coatings and inks, as well as a degreasing agent in leather processing.
