PEG200MO (Polyethylene Glycol 200 Monooleate) is a chemically stable non-ionic surfactant, but under improper storage conditions, it may still experience issues such as moisture absorption, oxidation, or phase separation. This product has a certain hygroscopicity. Prolonged exposure to high-humidity environments will cause it to absorb moisture from the air, leading to increased water content in the product, which may affect its emulsifying performance and formulation effectiveness. Additionally, although the product has an open-cup flash point greater than 200°C and is not classified as a flammable liquid, it is still recommended to keep it away from open flames and high-temperature heat sources to ensure storage safety.
PEG200MO is produced by esterifying natural oleic acid with polyethylene glycol. Its molecular structure contains unsaturated double bonds and ester bonds. Under extreme high temperature or prolonged light exposure, the unsaturated bonds in the oleic acid chain may undergo slow oxidation, resulting in color deepening and increased acid value. Under freezing conditions (below 0°C), the product may become cloudy or undergo phase separation. Although it can usually recover after warming, repeated freeze-thaw cycles may adversely affect emulsion stability. Therefore, stable storage temperature is key to ensuring product performance.
Under recommended storage conditions and following the "first-in, first-out" inventory management principle, Guoli Chemical guarantees the stability of this product for at least 12 months from the date of production. For products beyond this shelf life, if there is no obvious change in appearance, it is recommended to verify performance through small-scale tests before use.
| Storage Factor | Specific Requirement |
|---|---|
| Temperature | 5°C–35°C, avoid extreme high temperature and freezing conditions |
| Humidity | Dry environment, avoid high humidity to prevent moisture absorption |
| Light | Store away from light to prevent UV-accelerated oxidation |
| Container Material | Stainless steel, high-density polyethylene (HDPE), or epoxy-lined containers |
| Sealing Requirement | Keep packaging sealed; reseal promptly after opening |
| Incompatibles | Keep away from strong oxidizers, strong acids, strong bases, and other incompatible substances |
| Heat Source Management | Keep away from open flames, hot surfaces, and other ignition sources |
| Shelf Life | At least 12 months under recommended storage conditions (from date of production) |
It is recommended to follow the first-in, first-out principle for inventory turnover to avoid long-term accumulation. Upon receipt, check the integrity of the packaging to confirm no leakage or seal damage. After opening for use, immediately reseal to minimize contact with air. If sub-packaging is needed during use, use containers compatible with the original packaging and label them properly (product name, batch number, sub-packaging date).
