Under improper storage conditions, it may undergo degradation such as color deepening, phase separation, or hydrolysis of ester bonds, affecting its core functions like emulsification and dispersion.
Temperature control of the storage environment is the primary factor, and it is recommended to maintain it in a cool range of 5–30°C. Excessive temperatures accelerate hydrolysis and oxidation of ester bonds, leading to increased acid value and decreased pH; while excessively low temperatures may cause the product to solidify or precipitate, which generally does not affect chemical properties but increases the difficulty of homogenization before use. At the same time, avoid direct strong light and ultraviolet radiation to prevent photo-oxidative degradation.
Choice of packaging container is also important. It is recommended to use original containers or certified compatible materials such as stainless steel, glass, high-density polyethylene (HDPE), etc. Avoid long-term contact with metals like copper and aluminum, as trace metal ions may catalyze oxidation reactions. After each use, immediately seal the container to minimize contact with moisture and oxygen in the air.
