Isomeric alcohol polyether E-1303 is a nonionic surfactant derived from isomeric tridecanol through ethoxylation reaction. With its unique branched hydrophobic structure, it plays an efficient role in emulsification, wetting, and penetration in fields such as industrial cleaning, textile printing and dyeing, and pesticide formulations.
Detailed Description
Isomeric alcohol polyether E-1303, full name isomeric tridecanol polyoxyethylene (3) ether, CAS No. 9043-30-5, is a nonionic surfactant. It is prepared by the addition reaction of isomeric tridecanol as a starting agent with approximately 3 moles of ethylene oxide (EO). Appearance is colorless to light yellow liquid, molecular weight around 332, effective content ≥99%, dispersible in water. Its unique branched hydrophobic structure distinguishes it from conventional linear alcohol ethers, imparting superior surface activity.
This product has five core properties: excellent emulsifying ability, effectively reducing oil-water interfacial tension and forming stable emulsions; outstanding wetting and penetrating properties, quickly spreading to substrate surfaces and gaps due to the branched structure; excellent chemical stability, maintaining activity in a wide range of acidic, alkaline, and hard water environments; low foam characteristics, easier to rinse and clean compared to linear alcohol ethers; and broad compatibility, compatible with anionic, cationic, and other nonionic surfactants.

Application Suggestions
Isomeric alcohol polyether E-1303 is suitable for various industrial formulation systems. Recommended application directions are as follows:
- Industrial and Household Cleaning: As a core surfactant in water-based metal cleaners and hard surface cleaners. Recommended to be compounded with anionic surfactants, utilizing its low foam characteristics to reduce rinsing water usage.
- Textile Printing and Dyeing Auxiliaries: In scouring agent and penetrant formulations, the recommended dosage is 0.1% to 0.5% of the working solution, significantly improving fiber wetting speed and dye leveling effect.
- Pesticide Formulations: Used as an emulsifier in emulsifiable concentrates and emulsion concentrates, recommended dosage is 5% to 10%, effectively enhancing the spreading and adhesion of the pesticide solution on plant leaves.
- Emulsion Polymerization: Participates in the polymerization of vinyl acetate, acrylates, etc., as a nonionic emulsifier, providing good mechanical stability and storage stability to the synthetic emulsion.
Precautions
- This product is GHS classified as Skin Irritation Category 2 (H315) and Serious Eye Damage/Eye Irritation Category 2A (H319). Protective gloves, eye protection, and protective clothing must be worn during handling.
- Storage temperature is recommended between 5℃ and 40℃, avoiding freezing or high temperature exposure. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated warehouse.
- The product is dispersible in water rather than completely soluble. During preparation, it is recommended to slowly add to water under stirring to promote uniform dispersion.
- Keep away from strong oxidizers, strong acids, and strong alkalis. Do not store together.
