Isotridecanol polyether E-1306 is a nonionic surfactant that appears as a colorless to slightly yellow transparent liquid at room temperature. It has good fluidity and water dispersibility, making operation relatively simple. In practical applications, it can be used as the main surfactant or as an auxiliary component combined with other anionic, cationic, or nonionic surfactants to achieve synergistic effects.
For the method of addition, it is usually recommended to add it directly to the aqueous phase system with stirring until dissolved, or in systems containing an oil phase, first mix it with the oil phase and then add water for emulsification. Since the product's cloud point is approximately 44~46°C (1% aqueous solution), attention should be paid to controlling the temperature during processes that require heating to avoid exceeding the cloud point, which could cause the product to precipitate and affect performance. In low-temperature environments, thanks to its low pour point due to the branched structure, the product still maintains good fluidity and can be used without special preheating.
Our product technical data does not currently provide a unified fixed dosage. The following are recommended dosage ranges based on common industry practices. The optimal proportion should be determined through formulation experiments:
| Application area | Recommended dosage (percentage of total formulation mass) | Functional role |
|---|---|---|
| Industrial hard surface cleaners | 2% ~ 8% | Primary emulsifier, penetrant |
| Metalworking fluids (cutting/grinding) | 5% ~ 15% | Emulsifier, lubricant component |
| Textile dyeing and printing pretreatment (penetrants) | 1% ~ 5% (working solution 0.5~2 g/L) | Penetration, leveling agent |
| Leather degreasing/rewetting | 1% ~ 3% (working solution 0.5%~1%) | Penetration dispersant |
| Pesticide emulsifiable concentrates/microemulsions | 5% ~ 10% | Emulsifier |
| Emulsion polymerization | 1% ~ 3% (based on monomer mass) | Polymerization emulsifier |
When developing formulations, it is recommended to start with a low dosage and conduct gradient experiments, gradually increasing the amount of E-1306 until the desired emulsifying, wetting, or cleaning effect is achieved. This product has low foaming characteristics, making it particularly suitable for cleaning products that require rapid defoaming or are difficult to rinse. If stronger emulsifying capacity or a higher cloud point is needed in the formulation, it can be used in combination with other high-EO-number products from our company (such as E-1309, etc.).
