Question

What is XPO-4 (Glycerol polyoxyethylene ether oleate), high-temperature leveling agent

XPO-4 (Glycerol polyoxyethylene ether oleate) is a high-performance nonionic surfactant specifically designed for high-temperature and high-pressure dyeing processes of polyester and its blended fabrics. It is renowned for its excellent leveling and slow-dyeing properties as well as high-temperature stability, making it a key auxiliary agent for improving dyeing quality in chemical fiber printing and dyeing.

Detailed Description

XPO-4, with the chemical name glycerol polyoxyethylene ether oleate (also known as polyoxyethylene glyceryl oleate, polyoxyethylene glyceryl monooleate), is a nonionic surfactant produced by Haian Guoli Chemical Co., Ltd. At room temperature, the product appears as a light yellow to yellow transparent viscous liquid. It is a specially designed leveling agent for high-temperature and high-pressure dyeing processes of polyester (polyester fiber) and its blended fabrics using disperse dyes.

During the dyeing process, XPO-4 effectively reduces the dye uptake rate through its excellent migration properties, allowing the dye to uniformly adsorb and diffuse on the fiber surface and interior, fundamentally preventing dyeing defects such as color spots, color differences, and color specks. At the same time, it has strong emulsifying and dispersing power for disperse dyes, effectively preventing the agglomeration and precipitation of dye particles in the dye bath, ensuring long-term stability of the dye bath.

In addition, XPO-4 exhibits outstanding stability under high-temperature and high-pressure conditions, without demulsification or stratification. It also has excellent resistance to acids, alkalis, and hard water, maintaining high efficiency under different water quality and process conditions. With these comprehensive properties, XPO-4 is widely used in high-temperature and high-pressure dyeing processes in the textile printing and dyeing industry. It can also be used as an industrial emulsifier and dispersant in formulations for inks, coatings, pesticide emulsifiable concentrates, and as a component of chemical fiber oiling agents to impart good smoothness and antistatic properties to fibers.

Application Recommendations

Main Application - High-Temperature and High-Pressure Leveling: As a dedicated leveling agent for high-temperature and high-pressure dyeing processes of polyester and its blended fabrics using disperse dyes, it is recommended to add according to the process requirements in the dye bath formulation. It can effectively control the dye uptake rate, improve leveling and color reproducibility, and significantly increase the first-time success rate of dyeing.

Industrial Emulsification and Dispersion: With excellent interfacial activity, it can be used as a high-performance emulsifier and dispersant in industrial formulations such as inks, coatings, and pesticide emulsifiable concentrates. The specific addition amount should be determined through optimization experiments based on the formulation system and process requirements.

Chemical Fiber Oiling Agent Compounding: As a component of chemical fiber spinning oiling agents, it imparts good smoothness, bundling properties, and antistatic properties to fibers, improving spinnability and post-processing performance. It is recommended to be used in combination with other functional components.

Precautions

  • Eye Protection: This product is classified as a serious eye irritant (GHS Category 2, H319). During operation, safety goggles or face shields meeting standards must be worn. In case of eye contact, immediately flush with flowing clean water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention.
  • Environmental Safety: This product is harmful to aquatic life (H402). Do not discharge untreated waste or residues into soil, waterways, or public drainage systems.
  • Storage Conditions: Recommended storage temperature is 5°C to 40°C, sealed and stored in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated warehouse, avoiding freezing or prolonged high temperatures. Keep away from strong oxidizers, strong acids, and strong bases.
  • Operating Procedures: Operate in a well-ventilated area, avoid prolonged inhalation of vapors or mists; thoroughly wash hands and exposed skin after operation; eating, drinking, or smoking is prohibited in the work area.
  • Leak Handling: In case of leakage, use inert absorbent materials (such as sand, vermiculite) to contain and collect, avoid flushing into sewers or surface water bodies.
