Product Overview

Emulsifier S-185 (O-5) is a fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether nonionic surfactant. It offers good emulsifying, wetting, dispersing and solubilizing properties, making it suitable for use across multiple industries including textiles, industrial cleaning and metalworking. It appears as a white to pale yellow paste at room temperature and is readily soluble in water and organic solvents.

Performance Features

  • Good emulsifying power: Effectively emulsifies mineral oils, vegetable oils and synthetic esters into stable O/W emulsions.
  • Reliable wetting and dispersing: Reduces surface tension to promote wetting and maintains uniform dispersion of solid particles.
  • Solubilizing capability: Helps incorporate lipophilic components into aqueous systems.
  • Moderate HLB: Balanced hydrophilic-lipophilic properties suitable for a variety of formulation types.

Application Guidelines

  1. Pesticide Formulations: 3%-8% as an emulsifier in EC and EW formulations.
  2. Industrial Cleaning: 1%-5% in hard surface and metal cleaning formulations.
  3. Textile Auxiliaries: 0.5%-2% as a wetting and emulsifying component in pretreatment and dyeing auxiliaries.

Packaging and Storage

50kg plastic drum, 200kg plastic drum, IBC tote. Store in a cool, dry place. Shelf life: 24 months.
