The molecular formula is C₆H₅C(C₈H₈)₃O(C₂H₄O)nH, with an average EO number of approximately 9~10 and a molecular weight of about 824. The product is a light yellow to brownish-yellow viscous liquid at room temperature, with a melting point below -10°C. It is readily soluble in water and polar organic solvents such as alcohols and ketones, and also exhibits good dispersibility in non-polar media like mineral oil.
The active content of the product is ≥99%, with free alcohol ≤3% and moisture ≤1.0%. It is chemically stable and maintains activity in acid, alkali, and electrolyte systems. The HLB value of this product is approximately 11.5, making it an oil-in-water (O/W) emulsifier, particularly suitable for medium polarity oil phase systems. In pesticide formulations, it is recommended for preparing emulsifiable concentrates, emulsion concentrates, and microemulsions, with a recommended addition amount of 3%~10% of the total formula weight. In emulsion polymerization, it is used as an emulsifier to effectively control the latex particle size and distribution, with a recommended dosage of 1%~4% of the monomer weight. Due to the different EO addition numbers, 600-2 and 600-1 can be combined to obtain a wider HLB coverage range and synergistic effects.
When used in industrial cleaning formulations, due to its low foaming characteristics and excellent acid and alkali resistance, it is particularly suitable for formulating metal degreasers and hard surface cleaners, with a recommended addition amount of 5%~15%. When used as a leveling agent or penetrating agent in textile auxiliaries, the recommended concentration in the working solution is 0.5~3 g/L.
