Castor Oil Polyoxyethylene Ether EL-10 (also known as: Emulsifier EL-10, PEG-10 Castor Oil, Polyoxyethylene Castor Oil EL-10) is a nonionic surfactant produced by ethoxylation of natural castor oil with ethylene oxide. Its molecular structure retains the lipophilic backbone of castor oil while introducing hydrophilic polyoxyethylene chains, giving it unique lipophilic-hydrophilic balance characteristics, particularly suitable for W/O (water-in-oil) emulsion systems.
This product has four core properties: First, excellent emulsifying performance, capable of effectively stabilizing water-in-oil emulsion structures. Second, good wetting and dispersing properties, significantly reducing interfacial tension and promoting uniform dispersion of particles or pigments. Third, good stability against acids, alkalis, and hard water, maintaining high chemical activity even in complex water conditions or extreme pH environments. Fourth, outstanding emulsifying and solubilizing abilities for mineral oils, animal and vegetable oils. The product has a flash point above 150°C and is classified as non-hazardous and non-flammable liquid.
As a mature product of Guoli Chemical, EL-10 is used as a high-quality emulsifier in pesticide formulations, serving as an emulsifier for emulsifiable concentrate (EC) formulations; as a smoothing and wetting component in synthetic fiber spinning in the textile industry; as a specialized emulsifier for W/O creams and lotions in cosmetics; and it is widely applied in leather processing, metalworking fluids, coatings and inks, and industrial cleaning among other industries.

Pesticide Formulations: As a nonionic emulsifier for preparing emulsifiable concentrates (EC) of pesticides such as cypermethrin and abamectin, it improves emulsion stability, spreading, and penetration, enhancing efficacy. It is recommended to be used in combination with anionic emulsifiers for optimal emulsification results.
Textile Industry: Used as a component of spinning finishes and smoothing agents in spinning and post-processing of synthetic fibers such as polyester and nylon, imparting good smoothness, antistatic properties, and cohesion to the fibers, reducing breakage and fly, and improving spinning efficiency.
Cosmetics Industry: Due to its lipophilic nature, it is suitable for W/O cold creams, sunscreens, skin care lotions, etc., acting as an emulsifier and emollient to improve skin feel and cream stability.
Leather Processing: As a component of fatliquoring agents in leather fatliquoring processes, it effectively penetrates into leather fibers, imparting softness and fullness to the leather, and improving flex resistance and waterproof properties.
Metalworking Fluids: Acts as an emulsifier and lubricant component in emulsified cutting fluids, grinding fluids, and rust preventive oils, also providing rust inhibition, suitable for processing and short-term rust prevention of ferrous metals and some non-ferrous metals.
Coatings and Inks: Used in solvent-based coatings and ink systems to help wet and disperse organic pigments (such as phthalocyanine blue, azo pigments), reducing system viscosity and improving color strength and storage stability.
Industrial Cleaning: As a nonionic surfactant in low- or medium-foam industrial hard surface cleaners, it exhibits excellent emulsifying and solubilizing capabilities for mineral oils and grease deposits, suitable for cleaning hard surfaces such as metals and plastics.
Irritation and Protection: The product is mildly irritating to the eyes and skin. Repeated contact may cause skin defatting. Wear chemical safety goggles and chemical-resistant gloves (e.g., nitrile rubber) during handling, and use appropriate protective clothing. Use in a well-ventilated area.
Storage Conditions: Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated warehouse, away from heat sources, open flames, and incompatible substances such as strong oxidizers and strong acids. Keep containers tightly closed, avoid direct sunlight, and control storage temperature between 0°C and 40°C to prevent product deterioration or stratification.
Emergency Treatment: In case of skin contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water and soap for at least 15 minutes. In case of eye contact, flush thoroughly with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention immediately. If ingested, do not induce vomiting; rinse mouth with water and seek medical attention immediately.
Spill Handling: For small spills, cover and collect with inert absorbent materials (such as dry sand, vermiculite). For large spills, contain to prevent entry into drains, transfer to emergency containers using explosion-proof pumps, clean up residues with absorbents, and dispose of waste in accordance with local environmental regulations.
