Castor Oil Polyoxyethylene Ether EL-10 (PEG-10 Castor Oil) is a non-ionic surfactant with relatively high safety. Its flash point is >150°C, it is not classified as a flammable liquid, and it has low toxicity by inhalation or ingestion, making it a non-hazardous substance. Nevertheless, this product may cause mild irritation to the eyes and skin. Repeated or prolonged contact may lead to skin defatting; thus, personal protection should not be neglected during industrial use.
In daily operations, use it in a well-ventilated area and apply local exhaust ventilation if necessary to ensure airborne concentrations remain below occupational exposure limits. Avoid inhalation of vapors, mists, or dusts, and prevent direct contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. After handling, thoroughly wash exposed skin, and contaminated clothing must be washed before reuse. Eating, drinking, and smoking are prohibited in the workplace, and food should not be stored there to prevent accidental ingestion.
In case of accidental contact, take immediate emergency measures: For skin contact, remove contaminated clothing and rinse with plenty of running water and soap for at least 15 minutes; for eye contact, immediately lift the eyelids and rinse thoroughly with plenty of water or saline for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention; for inhalation, move the person to fresh air; do NOT induce vomiting if ingested, rinse the mouth with water and seek immediate medical attention to prevent aspiration into the lungs, which could cause serious injury.

The product should be stored in a cool, dry, well-ventilated warehouse, away from heat sources, open flames, strong oxidizers, strong acids, and other incompatible materials. Keep containers tightly sealed to prevent moisture absorption and contamination, avoid direct sunlight, and maintain storage temperature between 0°C and 40°C to prevent product deterioration or separation. The storage area should be equipped with spill response equipment and suitable absorbent materials.
In case of a spill, small spills can be covered with inert absorbent materials (e.g., dry sand, vermiculite, or universal absorbent pads) and collected into sealed containers; large spills must be quickly contained to prevent entry into drains, surface water, or soil, and transferred to emergency containers using explosion-proof pumps or specialized equipment. For firefighting, although this product is not flammable, it may decompose at high temperatures or in flames releasing irritating gases (e.g., carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide); firefighters should wear positive-pressure self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing.
