Castor oil polyoxyethylene ether EL-80 is a nonionic surfactant. At room temperature, it is typically a yellowish paste or solid. It has relatively stable chemical properties and exhibits good tolerance to acids, alkalis, and hard water. This product is classified as a non-hazardous chemical. It has a high flash point (>200°C) and is not a flammable liquid, but it can burn at high temperatures. The main risks during handling are avoiding prolonged or repeated skin contact and preventing inhalation of oil mist generated during heating or stirring. Its ecotoxicity is low, but direct release into water bodies should be controlled.
To ensure safety and product efficacy, operators must strictly follow relevant operating procedures. In any usage scenario, avoid generating unnecessary spray or aerosol to prevent inhalation. Eating, drinking, and smoking are prohibited in the workplace. After handling, wash hands and any exposed skin thoroughly. In case of a spill, the product can make the floor slippery and is hygroscopic; immediately set up warnings and clean up promptly.
Operating Environment: Use in a well-ventilated area; it is recommended to use local exhaust or general ventilation. Use explosion-proof electrical equipment and take anti-static measures. Keep containers closed, away from sparks, open flames, and strong oxidizers (such as peroxides, permanganates).

Storage Conditions: The product should be stored in a cool (recommended 5–35°C), dry, well-ventilated warehouse. Containers must be kept tightly closed, away from incompatible substances such as strong oxidizers, strong acids, and strong alkalis. The product is hygroscopic; after opening, reseal as soon as possible to avoid moisture and direct sunlight. The storage area should have impermeable flooring.
Spill Response: For small spills, absorb with inert materials such as sand or vermiculite, then collect into sealable chemical waste containers. For large spills, construct dikes to prevent spreading and avoid entry into sewers, surface waters, or other environmental waters. Be especially careful when cleaning contaminated floors, as the product makes surfaces extremely slippery.
Ecology and Waste: The product has a 28-day biodegradability rate of over 70% and low acute toxicity to aquatic organisms (Daphnia magna 48-hour EC50 >100 mg/L). However, it is still strictly prohibited to discharge untreated product directly into water bodies or soil. Waste disposal should comply with local regulations and may be entrusted to qualified professional agencies.
