Emulsifier A-105 (oleyl polyoxyethylene ether, HLB value approx. 10.5) is a colorless to light yellow transparent liquid at room temperature, easily soluble in water, and can be directly dispersed in the aqueous or oil phase. Due to its high viscosity (150~250 mPa·s at 25°C), it is recommended to pre-disperse or pre-dilute it with a small amount of warm water before adding to the main system for a more uniform mixing effect. This product is resistant to acids, alkalis, and hard water, maintaining stable performance under a wide pH range and high hardness water conditions, making it flexible for use in various industrial scenarios.
The usage methods of Emulsifier A-105 are divided into two categories according to the application field: one is as a primary emulsifier used alone, directly participating in the emulsification process of oil-water systems (e.g., pesticide emulsifiable concentrate formulation, metalworking fluid formulation); the other is as a blending component combined with anionic, cationic, or other nonionic surfactants to achieve synergistic effects (e.g., industrial cleaning agent formulations, textile dyeing and finishing auxiliaries). Regardless of the method, small-scale tests should be conducted first to determine the optimal dosage and process conditions before scaling up.

1. Pesticide EC/EW Formulation: Add Emulsifier A-105 at the specified ratio (usually 5% to 10% of the total formulation mass) directly to the oil-phase active ingredient and stir evenly. Then slowly add water with continuous stirring to form a uniform and stable emulsion. For microemulsion formulations, it is recommended to use it in combination with anionic surfactants, which can effectively reduce the total emulsifier dosage and improve the transparency and stability of the formulation.
2. Textile Dyeing and Finishing: When used as a leveling agent, the recommended dosage is 0.5~2 g/L of the dye bath, added 5~10 minutes before the dye is introduced, to retard the dye uptake rate and achieve uniform color. When used as a scouring agent, the recommended dosage is 1~5 g/L, treating at 40~60°C for 20~30 minutes, effectively removing oils and impurities from the fabric surface.
3. Industrial Hard Surface Cleaning: The recommended addition amount is 2% to 8% of the total cleaning agent formulation, used in combination with alkaline additives (e.g., sodium hydroxide, sodium carbonate), chelating agents, and solubilizers. During preparation, first add Emulsifier A-105 to water and stir evenly, then add other components. It can effectively emulsify mineral oils and animal/vegetable fats, with better results when used with heating (50~70°C).
4. Metalworking Fluid Formulation: As an emulsifier for emulsifiable/microemulsion cutting fluids, the recommended dosage is 10% to 20% of the base oil amount. Preparation process: Mix Emulsifier A-105 with the base oil evenly to form the oil phase, then slowly add to water under stirring to form a stable oil-in-water working fluid. For microemulsion formulations, it is recommended to combine with petroleum sulfonates or fatty acid soaps.
5. Leather Degreasing: The recommended dosage is 0.5% to 2% of the water volume, treating raw hides at 30~45°C for 30~60 minutes, gently and efficiently emulsifying and removing natural fats from the skin without damaging the fiber structure of the leather.
6. Emulsion Polymerization: When used as the primary emulsifier for emulsion polymerization of monomers such as acrylates and styrene, the recommended dosage is 1% to 5% of the total monomer amount. During use, first dissolve Emulsifier A-105 in deionized water, then add monomers for pre-emulsification or directly participate in the polymerization reaction. This effectively controls the latex particle size and improves the mechanical and storage stability of the polymer emulsion.
