G-25 Glycereth-25 is a nonionic surfactant with high safety. Toxicological data show that it is practically non-toxic — oral LD50 in rats > 5000 mg/kg, dermal LD50 > 2000 mg/kg, non-irritating to skin (rabbit, primary irritation index 0), eye irritation is only mild and reversible within 48 hours, and skin sensitization is negative. Although the product itself has excellent safety, long-term or repeated exposure may still cause discomfort in industrial-scale operations, so standardized protective measures cannot be ignored.
Under normal handling conditions, this product is not flammable or explosive. However, improper storage and handling may lead to moisture absorption and deterioration, or thermal decomposition producing irritating fumes. In addition, although it has good biodegradability (OECD 301F, >60% degradation in 28 days), it is strictly prohibited to directly discharge the product or waste liquids containing the product into soil, water bodies, or drainage systems. Disposal must be carried out by licensed professional waste treatment facilities in compliance with national and local environmental regulations.
| Accident Type | Treatment Method |
|---|---|
| Inhalation discomfort | Immediately move the patient to fresh air; administer oxygen if breathing is difficult; perform artificial respiration if breathing stops and seek medical attention |
| Skin contact | Remove contaminated clothing, rinse thoroughly with plenty of running water and mild soap for at least 15 minutes; seek medical attention if irritation persists |
| Eye contact | Hold eyelids apart and flush continuously with plenty of running water or saline for at least 15 minutes; seek ophthalmic treatment as soon as possible |
| Ingestion | Rinse mouth with water, do NOT induce vomiting; if conscious, give a small amount of water to dilute; immediately call a poison control center or seek medical attention |
| Spillage | For small spills, contain and collect with inert absorbent materials (sand, vermiculite); for large spills, dike to prevent entry into drains, transfer with specialized equipment |
| Fire | Use water fog, dry powder, carbon dioxide, or alcohol-resistant foam; firefighters must wear positive-pressure self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing |

In applications such as personal care products, textiles, metalworking, and industrial cleaning, G-25 is typically used at low concentrations (0.5%~10% depending on formulation), where its safety risk is minimal. It is recommended to conduct small-scale validation before first bulk use to confirm compatibility with other formulation components. For water-based formulations, this product maintains good chemical stability over a wide pH range, tolerates acids, alkalis, and electrolytes, and has strong resistance to hard water interference.
