Problems that may occur during the use of MOA-9 (AEO-9) typically focus on water solubility, emulsification effect, and compatibility stability. It is recommended to check step by step according to the following ideas:
1. Abnormal product state: MOA-9 is a colorless to slightly yellow transparent liquid or white paste at room temperature. If the product shows obvious layering, increased turbidity, or significant darkening of color, it may be due to improper storage temperature. Check whether it has been frozen or exposed to high temperatures. Storage temperature should be maintained within the normal range, avoiding extreme high temperatures or freezing to prevent structural changes in the product.
2. Unsatisfactory emulsification/dispersion effect: First, confirm whether the addition amount of MOA-9 is within a reasonable range, as different application systems have different HLB value requirements. Secondly, the type of oil phase and water hardness also affect the emulsification effect—although MOA-9 has excellent stability in hard water, if the concentration of calcium and magnesium ions in the water is extremely high, it is still necessary to appropriately increase the dosage or blend with other surfactants for synergistic effects. Also check whether the feeding sequence and stirring conditions are sufficient.
3. Compatibility issues: MOA-9 has good chemical compatibility and can be compounded with anionic, cationic, and other nonionic surfactants. If turbidity or precipitation occurs after compounding, it may be due to the system pH exceeding the applicable range of MOA-9, or adverse reactions occurring in the presence of incompatible substances such as strong oxidizers or strong acids. Check whether the formulation contains such interfering components.
4. Skin irritation and safety protection: This product is irritating (H315). Direct skin contact may cause allergic or irritating reactions (H319). Chemical protective gloves and protective glasses/face shields must be worn throughout operation. In case of accidental contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, and seek medical attention if severe. The workplace should be well-ventilated and equipped with emergency eyewash stations and shower facilities.
