The HLB value of this product is about 8 to 9, belonging to the water-in-oil (W\/O) emulsifier category, but it is also commonly compounded with high HLB value emulsifiers for oil-in-water (O\/W) systems. During formulation development, the emulsion type and stability of the system can be precisely controlled by adjusting the ratio of PEG600DO to other emulsifiers. Its cloud point characteristic allows it to maintain stable emulsification activity at both room temperature and medium temperatures.
Used as a primary or auxiliary emulsifier in creams, lotions, makeup removers, sunscreens, etc. Recommended dosage is 2% to 6% of the total formulation. Operation: first add PEG600DO to the oil phase (such as mineral oil, silicone oil, vegetable oil, etc.), heat to 70~80°C and stir until dissolved evenly; simultaneously heat the aqueous phase to the same temperature; then slowly add the oil phase to the aqueous phase under homogenization stirring, homogenize for 3 to 5 minutes, then cool. Its mild and low-irritation characteristics make it suitable for leave-on products such as facial care and body lotions.
Used for preparing synthetic fiber spinning oils and antistatic agents. Recommended dosage is 5% to 15% of the total oil agent. Mix PEG600DO with base oil, other emulsifiers, and antistatic components in proportion, heat to 40~50°C and stir evenly to obtain a stable spinning oil concentrate. Dilute with water to the required concentration (usually 5% to 15% working solution) before use. It imparts good smoothness and cohesion to fibers, effectively reducing breakage rates during spinning.
Used as an emulsifying and lubricating component in emulsified cutting fluids, grinding fluids, and rolling oils. Recommended dosage is 8% to 20% of the concentrate. Preparation: first mix PEG600DO evenly with oil-soluble components such as base oil, rust inhibitors, and extreme pressure additives, then add water to dilute into a working solution. It possesses both emulsifying and lubricating functions, helping to improve machining precision and workpiece surface finish.
Used as an emulsifying component in pesticide emulsifiable concentrates, microemulsions, and emulsion concentrates. Recommended dosage is 3% to 8% of the total formulation. Dissolve the technical material in an organic solvent, then add PEG600DO and stir evenly to obtain an emulsifiable concentrate; for preparing an emulsion concentrate, slowly add the oil phase containing PEG600DO to water under high shear conditions to emulsify. Recommended storage temperature is 5~40°C, sealed.
Used in degreaser and hard surface cleaner formulations. Recommended dosage is 2% to 5% of the total formulation. Can be compounded with anionic surfactants (such as sulfonates) and nonionic surfactants, directly added to water and stirred to dissolve. It has excellent emulsifying and stripping ability for mineral oils and greases, and its low-foaming property facilitates subsequent rinsing processes.
