Question

How to use super penetrating agent JFC-E? What is the recommended dosage?

Answer
2026-06-06 官方文档 超强渗透剂JFC-E

The recommended dosage of super penetrating agent JFC-E is usually 0.1% to 3.0% of the total working fluid, and the specific amount needs to be flexibly adjusted according to the process type and penetration requirements.

Detailed Description

Super penetrating agent JFC-E (chemical name: Dioctyl sodium sulfosuccinate, also known as Rapid Penetrant T/Penetrant OT/Aerosol OT, CAS number: 1639-66-3) is an anionic surfactant with an effective content of ≥99%, appearing as a light yellow to colorless transparent liquid. Its penetrating power is extremely strong, with a penetration time measured by the standard canvas sedimentation method of ≤5 seconds. The surface tension of a 1% aqueous solution is as low as 28~32 mN/m, endowing the working fluid with excellent instantaneous wetting and penetrating capabilities. This product is resistant to acids, alkalis, and hard water, has excellent chemical stability, and is compatible with various ionic auxiliaries. It is an indispensable high-efficiency penetrating auxiliary in many industries such as textiles, leather, and cleaning.

Due to the high active content and outstanding penetration efficiency of JFC-E, a relatively small dosage can achieve significant effects in practical use. When preparing the working fluid, it can be diluted with water or directly added to the system and stirred evenly, without the need for special equipment. For continuous production lines, it is recommended to use a metering pump to precisely control the addition amount to ensure consistent results between batches. The working fluid temperature is generally controlled between 20~60°C to fully exert its penetration performance. It has excellent alkali resistance and can tolerate NaOH solution environments as high as 200 g/L.

It should be specifically noted that the Guoli Chemical product database does not contain precise recommended dosage values for each specific process. The following dosage ranges are compiled based on the product's physical and chemical properties and general industry practical experience. Users should conduct small-scale experiments based on their own process conditions before actual production to determine the most suitable addition ratio.

Application Recommendations

Based on general experience in various application fields, the recommended dosage range is as follows:

  • Textile Printing and Dyeing Pretreatment (Desizing/Scouring/Bleaching): 0.5%~3.0% of the total working fluid. For high-alkali scouring processes, the dosage can be appropriately increased to utilize its high alkali resistance to ensure penetration effect.
  • Leveling and Penetration in Dyeing and Printing: 0.2%~1.0% of the total working fluid, which can effectively promote uniform penetration of dyes into fibers, prevent color spots, and increase color yield.
  • Leather Processing (Soaking/Degreasing/Tanning): 0.3%~1.5% based on the weight of leather, which can significantly shorten the soaking and chemical penetration time and improve leather softness.
  • Industrial and Household Hard Surface Cleaning: 1.0%~5.0% of the total formulation, used as a penetration enhancing component to improve detergency and wetting/spreading ability.
  • Pesticide Formulations (Emulsifiable Concentrate/Wettable Powder/Aqueous Suspension Concentrate): 1.0%~3.0% of the total formulation, to improve the wetting, spreading, and penetration ability of the spray liquid on target surfaces.
  • Paper Pulping and Deinking: 0.1%~0.5% based on the weight of pulp, to promote cooking liquor penetration and ink detachment.
  • Daily Chemical Cleaning Products: 0.5%~2.0% of the total formulation, to strengthen the penetration and breakdown effect on stubborn stains.

The above data are general industry experience reference values and are not precise marked data in the Guoli Chemical product database. It is recommended that users conduct gradient small-scale tests according to actual process conditions to determine the optimal economical dosage.

Precautions

  • Dilution Method: The product is easily soluble in water. It is recommended to add it slowly to water under stirring conditions to avoid one-time large addition. It can be pre-diluted with warm water before adding to the main working fluid.
  • Operational Protection: Wear chemical safety goggles and protective gloves during operation to avoid prolonged contact with eyes and skin. Keep the workplace well ventilated.
  • Storage Requirements: Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place at a temperature of 5~35°C, avoid direct sunlight, keep the container tightly closed, and keep away from oxidizing agents and strong acids and alkalis.
  • Compatibility Test: Before compounding with anionic or cationic auxiliaries, it is recommended to conduct a small compatibility test to ensure no precipitation or stratification occurs before batch use.
  • First Aid Measures: In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention; for skin contact, rinse with water; if ingested, seek medical attention immediately.
