Alkali-resistant penetrant OEP-70 is an anionic surfactant, with its core chemical structure being isooctyl alcohol polyoxyethylene ether phosphate (also known as 2-ethylhexanol polyoxyethylene ether phosphate). In industrial applications, this product often exists in the form of potassium salt, namely isooctyl alcohol polyoxyethylene ether phosphate potassium salt, to improve its solubility in water and ease of use.
From a chemical structure perspective, this product consists of three parts: the hydrophobic isooctyl alcohol (2-ethylhexanol) group provides affinity for fibers and substrates; the middle polyoxyethylene ether (EO) chain segment imparts certain hydrophilicity and wetting/spreading ability; the terminal phosphate group (in the form of potassium salt) contributes anionic characteristics and excellent alkali resistance stability. It is this unique "hydrophobic group-hydrophilic chain-anionic anchor" structure that enables OEP-70 to maintain excellent solubility and penetration activity in high-concentration alkali baths.

Based on its chemical properties of isooctyl alcohol polyoxyethylene ether phosphate, OEP-70 is particularly suitable for high-alkali process environments, such as cotton fabric alkali-oxygen one-bath pretreatment, cold pad-batch process, and mercerizing process. It can also be used as an efficient penetrant in paper pulping, leather degreasing, and alkaline industrial cleaning agent formulations. Its phosphate structure also endows the product with excellent hard water tolerance, with no risk of calcium soap precipitation when used in hard water areas.
