Product Overview

MOA-5 (AEO-5), chemically C12-14 fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene (5) ether, is a medium-polymerization nonionic surfactant with balanced emulsifying, wetting and solubilizing properties. It serves as a general-purpose auxiliary widely used in textile pretreatment, metal cleaning and pesticide formulations. At room temperature it appears as a colorless transparent liquid above 25°C and as a white paste below 25°C.

Performance Features

  • Balanced HLB (~10.5): Transitional emulsifier suitable for both W/O and O/W systems depending on concentration and temperature.
  • Good wetting power: Rapidly reduces surface tension for effective substrate penetration.
  • Effective solubilizing: Helps incorporate lipophilic components into aqueous systems.
  • Broad compatibility: Works well with anionic, cationic and nonionic surfactants.
  • Good oil solubility: Readily dissolves in oils and organic solvents.

Application Guidelines

  1. Textile Pretreatment: 0.5-3g/L as a wetting and scouring agent.
  2. Metal Cleaning: 2%-6% in degreasing formulations.
  3. Pesticide Formulations: 3%-8% as a co-emulsifier.
  4. General Emulsifier: 1%-5% in O/W or W/O emulsion systems.

Packaging and Storage

50kg plastic drum, 200kg plastic drum, IBC tote. Store at 5-40°C. 24-month shelf life.
