Detergent AR-812 is a nonionic surfactant mainly composed of fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether, widely used for scouring and degreasing in textile printing and dyeing, industrial cleaning, and papermaking.

Detailed Description

Detergent AR-812 (CAS No.: 9036-19-5, also known in the industry as Detergent AR812, Triton X-100, Octylphenol Polyoxyethylene Ether AR-812) is a nonionic surfactant product manufactured by Hai'an County Guoli Chemical Co., Ltd. It appears as a colorless to light yellow transparent viscous liquid with excellent penetrating, emulsifying, and dispersing capabilities.

The core advantages of this product include: Strong detergency — it can quickly wet fabrics and hard surfaces, penetrate fibers or micro-gaps, and efficiently remove oil stains, floating colors, and solid impurities; Excellent emulsification and dispersion — it can rapidly emulsify oil stains into tiny droplets and stably disperse them in the working solution, preventing re-contamination; Outstanding chemical stability — it maintains stable performance under acid, alkali, and hard water conditions, with a wide process adaptability range; Broad compatibility — it can be compatibly compounded with anionic, cationic, and other nonionic auxiliaries, offering flexible formulation adjustments.

In terms of safety and environmental protection, this product is classified as a non-hazardous chemical, with low toxicity (rat oral LD₅₀ > 5000 mg/kg), no irritation to skin (skin irritation index < 0.5) and eyes (eye irritation index 0), non-flammable (closed-cup flash point > 150 ℃), readily biodegradable (≥ 90% according to OECD 301B), and free of APEO, complying with international environmental regulations.

Main Applications

1. Textile Printing and Dyeing Processing

  • Scouring of cellulose fibers and their blends: Used after pretreatment processes such as desizing, scouring, and bleaching to efficiently remove residual sizing agents, impurities, and decomposition products, providing a clean substrate for subsequent dyeing and printing.
  • Soaping of dyed and printed fabrics: Suitable for soaping after dyeing and printing with reactive dyes, disperse dyes, and vat dyes, effectively removing unfixed floating dyes and residual pastes, significantly improving color fastness and brightness.
  • Scouring of synthetic fibers and their blends: Used for scouring and de-oiling of synthetic fiber fabrics, rapidly emulsifying and removing spinning oils and weaving lubricants, improving fabric hand feel and hydrophilicity.

2. Industrial Cleaning

  • Degreasing of metal parts: Surface cleaning of workpieces, stampings, and precision components to thoroughly remove cutting fluids, rust preventatives, greases, and other oils, meeting requirements for subsequent electroplating or coating processes.
  • Cleaning of hard surfaces: Suitable for heavy oil removal from mechanical equipment shells, floors, workbenches, and other hard surfaces, with strong penetration and emulsification to quickly break down stubborn oil deposits.

3. Papermaking Industry

  • Washing and maintenance of papermaking felts: Used for online or offline washing of papermaking felts to dissolve and remove accumulated resins, adhesives, fine fibers, and fillers, restoring felt porosity and elasticity and extending service life.

Precautions

  • Operators should receive specialized training. It is recommended to use in well-ventilated conditions, wearing chemical safety goggles and protective gloves to avoid prolonged or repeated skin contact that may cause defatting and dryness.
  • Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated warehouse. Recommended storage temperature is 5 ℃ to 40 ℃. Avoid direct sunlight, and keep away from heat sources, sparks, and strong oxidizers.
  • In case of small spills, use inert absorbent materials (e.g., sand, vermiculite) to collect. For large leaks, construct containment dikes to prevent entry into sewers or natural water bodies.
  • This product is non-flammable, but in fire conditions, it may decompose upon heating to produce irritating fumes. Use water spray, foam, dry powder, or carbon dioxide for extinguishing.
