Peregal O-3 is a nonionic surfactant made from natural C12-14 fatty alcohols as the initiator, condensed with ethylene oxide. Its CAS number is 68439-49-6, and it is mainly used as a water-in-oil (W/O) emulsifier, textile printing and dyeing auxiliaries, and industrial cleaning.
Detailed Description
Peregal O-3, with the chemical name fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene (3) ether, also known as AEO-3, Laureth-3, Emulsifier O-3, Leveling Agent O-3, etc. This product uses natural C12-14 fatty alcohols as the initiator and is condensed with 3 moles of ethylene oxide, belonging to nonionic surfactants. It appears as a colorless to slightly yellow liquid or paste with high active matter content. Its molecular structure combines lipophilic and moderately hydrophilic properties, making it a low-polymerization-degree fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether.
The core characteristics of Peregal O-3 include: excellent W/O (water-in-oil) emulsifying ability, which can stably disperse the water phase in the oil phase to form a uniform and fine emulsion; outstanding wetting and permeability, quickly reducing solid/liquid interfacial tension; excellent chemical stability, remaining active under a wide range of acidic and alkaline conditions and hard water media; good compatibility with various anionic, cationic, and nonionic auxiliaries, facilitating compounding use.
It should be noted that Peregal O-3 is harmful if swallowed, may cause skin irritation and serious eye irritation, and is also harmful to aquatic life. When handling, protective gloves, goggles, and work clothing should be worn. Storage should be away from fire and heat sources, keep the container tightly closed, and the shelf life is 24 months from the date of production.

Application Suggestions
Peregal O-3 has a wide range of applications, mainly including the following scenarios:
- Water-in-Oil (W/O) Emulsifier: Used as the main emulsifier in oily systems such as cosmetic creams, lubricating oils, and pesticide emulsifiable concentrates, especially suitable for formulations with a high oil phase ratio, effectively reducing oil-water interfacial tension to form stable emulsions.
- Synthetic Fiber Spinning Oil: Used as a smoothing agent and antistatic component in the spinning process of synthetic fibers such as polyester, nylon, and polypropylene, reducing fiber friction and preventing the generation of broken filaments, imparting good spinnability and hand feel to the fibers.
- Textile Dyeing and Printing Leveling Agent: Helps dyes disperse evenly and adsorb slowly during the dyeing process, effectively preventing dyeing defects such as color spots and streaks, significantly improving leveling and dyeing reproducibility.
- Industrial Degreasing Cleaning Agent: Quickly penetrates oil layers in metal pretreatment and machining cleaning, removing stubborn oil stains such as mineral oils and rust preventive oils, with low foaming and easy rinsing.
- Metalworking Fluid Component: Used as an important emulsifier and lubricating component in metalworking fluids such as cutting fluids and rolling oils, combining cooling, lubrication, and anti-rust properties.
- Pesticide Emulsifiable Concentrate Emulsifier: Forms a homogeneous emulsifiable concentrate with the pesticide active ingredient and solvent, which automatically disperses into a stable emulsion when diluted with water, ensuring uniform spraying of the active ingredients.
- Penetrant: Used in fabric pretreatment (desizing, scouring, mercerizing, etc.), accelerating the penetration of alkali solutions or auxiliaries into the fiber interior, improving treatment efficiency.
- Emulsifying and Dispersing Agent for Mineral Oils and Nonpolar Solvents: Has strong emulsifying and dispersing ability for mineral oils, white oils, alkane solvents, etc.
Precautions
- Safety Hazards: GHS hazard classification: Skin corrosion/irritation category 2, Serious eye damage/eye irritation category 2A, Hazardous to the aquatic environment acute hazard category 3. When handling, wear nitrile rubber protective gloves, chemical safety goggles, and protective clothing.
- First Aid Measures: If skin contact occurs, wash immediately with plenty of soap and water for at least 15 minutes; if eye contact occurs, rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention as soon as possible; if ingested, do NOT induce vomiting and seek medical attention immediately.
- Storage Requirements: Keep container tightly closed, store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from heat sources, sparks, and open flames. Keep away from strong oxidizers, strong acids, and strong bases.
- Environmental Requirements: Do not discharge the product or packaging waste into waterways. Dispose of waste through qualified professional waste treatment agencies.
