Addition Method and Dissolution Operation
Alkali-resistant penetrant AEP is a colorless to light yellow transparent liquid, easily soluble in water. Therefore, in actual production, it can be directly added to the working liquid in liquid form without pre-dissolving or heating. According to the product data from Guoli Chemical, the active content of this product is ≥98.0%, with high effective components, making the addition amount relatively economical. The timing of addition is usually before or simultaneously with the addition of the alkali agent, to ensure that the penetrant is uniformly dispersed before introducing the high-concentration alkali solution, avoiding local high concentration that may affect the dispersion effect. For long-process procedures such as cold pad-batch, AEP can be pre-mixed with an appropriate amount of water and then pumped into the feed tank, and then mixed evenly with alkali solution, hydrogen peroxide, and other auxiliaries.
If used in compounding formulas for cleaning agents or deinking agents, AEP, as the core penetrating component, can be directly involved in blending and has good compatibility with anionic, nonionic surfactants and alkaline auxiliaries. Stir evenly and avoid prolonged high-speed shearing to prevent excessive foaming (this product is low-foaming, with low foam at room temperature, but it is still recommended to control stirring intensity appropriately in high-temperature alkali baths).
Recommended Dosage References for Various Industries
The following recommended dosages are based on the general application experience of Guoli Chemical products and industry practices. They are not precise parameters in the database. In actual production, the optimal dosage should be determined through small-scale tests based on process conditions, equipment type, and substrate characteristics:
- Cotton fabric scouring and bleaching in one alkali-oxygen bath: 1~3 g/L, combined with caustic soda (20~40 g/L) and hydrogen peroxide (6~12 g/L), treated at 95~100°C for 30~60 minutes, can significantly improve whiteness and capillary effect uniformity.
- Cold pad-batch pretreatment: 3~5 g/L, combined with high-concentration caustic soda (40~60 g/L) and hydrogen peroxide, stacked at room temperature for 12~24 hours, ensuring that penetration power does not decrease under low temperature and long time.
- Mercerizing penetration: 2~5 g/L, added to a mercerizing solution containing 180~280 g/L caustic soda, to help the alkali solution quickly and uniformly penetrate cotton fibers.
- Desizing process: 1~3 g/L, used in the same bath with caustic soda and desizing auxiliaries.
- Metal alkaline degreasing and cleaning: Add 3%~8% of the total cleaning agent formula, combined with alkaline components such as sodium hydroxide and sodium silicate, used at 60~80°C.
- Waste paper deinking: 2%~5% of the total deinking agent formula, combined with caustic soda, sodium silicate, chelating agents, and other deinking agent components, used under conditions of 10%~15% pulp concentration.
- Leather soaking/degreasing: Add 0.3%~1.0% of the leather weight (based on the original liquid), combined with soda ash or caustic soda to adjust pH to alkaline conditions.
Precautions
- Protective requirements: Chemical protective gloves, safety goggles/face shield, and protective clothing must be worn during operation. The work area should be equipped with eye wash stations and emergency showers. This product can cause skin irritation (H315) and serious eye irritation (H319). Avoid direct contact.
- pH sensitivity: Although AEP has excellent alkali resistance (according to Guoli Chemical data, it can withstand 200 g/L NaOH), its active ingredients are phosphate ester anionic surfactants, which may hydrolyze under strong acidic conditions. Avoid prolonged coexistence with strong acids. The pH of the working solution is recommended to be maintained above 7.
- Compatibility testing: When used in the same bath with cationic auxiliaries, precipitation may occur due to charge neutralization. It is recommended to conduct a compatibility test in advance.
- Wastewater treatment: This product is harmful to aquatic organisms (H402). Wastewater containing AEP must be treated to meet standards before discharge and should not be directly discharged into water bodies.
- Storage: Store the original liquid at a temperature between 5°C and 40°C, avoid freezing, and seal the container after use. It is recommended to follow the "first in, first out" principle.
