Rapid Penetrant T, often referred to in the industry as Penetrant T, Fast T, AOT, or Aerosol OT, has the chemical name sodium dioctyl sulfosuccinate (molecular formula: C20H37NaO7S, molecular weight: 444.56). The Fast T-50 product from Guoli Chemical is a general-grade, 50% active content, colorless to light yellow transparent viscous liquid, belonging to the anionic surfactant category. This product possesses extremely high penetration efficiency, instantly acting at solid-liquid interfaces to achieve deep wetting. It exhibits excellent spreading ability on hydrophobic surfaces such as fabrics, metals, plastics, and plant leaves, effectively preventing "bare bottom" phenomena.
The outstanding feature of Fast T-50 lies in its extreme chemical stability—it maintains stable activity in strong acid, strong alkali, and high-concentration electrolyte (hard water) systems without hydrolysis or precipitation. It also possesses strong emulsifying and detergency properties with low foaming characteristics, performing exceptionally well under working conditions requiring rapid penetration and wetting. Its penetration power, tested by the standard canvas sedimentation method, takes no more than 5 seconds at a 0.5% aqueous solution concentration, with an HLB value of approximately 13.5, also providing good emulsifying function.
This product has multiple common names in the global chemical industry, including sodium diisooctyl sulfosuccinate, sodium bis(2-ethylhexyl) sulfosuccinate, dioctyl sodium sulfosuccinate, AOT, Aerosol OT, OT wetting agent, etc., and is a classic penetrant variety recognized by international standards.

Textile Printing and Dyeing: Used as a high-efficiency penetrating wetting agent in pretreatment, dyeing, and finishing processes. Recommended dosage is 0.1% to 0.5% of the working solution. Its rapid penetration characteristics can significantly improve the leveling of dyes and auxiliaries, reducing quality defects such as color spots and color patches. Its alkali resistance is suitable for use in pretreatment stages without the need for additional alkali-resistant additives.
Pesticide Formulations: Used as a spreading and penetrating synergist, recommended to add 0.5% to 3% (based on total formulation weight) to the pesticide formulation, which can significantly enhance the adhesion and penetration of the spray liquid on plant leaves and target pest surfaces. Introducing Fast T-50 into non-ionic formulations can enhance the internal absorption and penetration effect of the pesticide, improving field control efficiency.
Emulsion Polymerization: Used as a high-quality anionic emulsifier for monomer pre-emulsification and polymerization dispersion. Better results are achieved when combined with non-ionic emulsifiers, with a recommended proportion of 20% to 50% of the total emulsifier ratio. It can effectively stabilize monomer droplets, improving the storage stability and mechanical stability of the synthetic latex.
Leather Chemicals: Add 0.1% to 0.5% in processes such as soaking, degreasing, and dyeing to promote rapid and uniform penetration of chemicals into leather fibers, shortening process time and enhancing leather softness and fullness.
Papermaking Industry: Used as a retention aid in the papermaking process or as a wetting and dispersing auxiliary in coating processes, with a recommended dosage of 0.05% to 0.2%.
