Product Overview

Poloxamer L-62 (Poloxamer 182) is an EO/PO/EO triblock copolymer nonionic surfactant. It is used as an emulsifier, solubilizer, defoamer and wetting agent in pharmaceutical excipients, cosmetics and industrial applications. Appears as a colorless to pale yellow liquid, dispersible in water.

Performance Features

  • Triblock structure: Central PO block flanked by EO blocks providing controlled surface activity.
  • Low foaming: Suitable for applications requiring minimal foam.
  • Good defoaming: Effective foam control in aqueous systems.
  • Physiologically inert: Safe for pharmaceutical and food-grade applications.

Application Guidelines

  1. Pharmaceutical: Excipient for drug solubilization and emulsification.
  2. Cosmetics: 0.5%-3% as solubilizer and emulsifier.
  3. Industrial Defoamer: 0.01%-0.5% in process water systems.

Packaging and Storage

50kg plastic drum, 200kg plastic drum. Cool dry storage.

Polyether/Poloxamer Applications

  • Low-foam detergents: CIP and spray cleaning systems. Dosage: 1%-5%.
  • Fermentation defoamer: Antibiotic, enzyme and food fermentation. Dosage: 0.01%-0.1%.
  • Metalworking fluids: Low-foam lubricity additive. Dosage: 1%-5%.
  • Papermaking: Defoamer and dispersant.
  • Pharmaceutical solubilizer: For poorly soluble drugs (F-68).
