Peregal O-25 is a non-ionic surfactant (fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether), primarily used as a leveling agent and dispersant in the textile printing and dyeing industry, with excellent emulsifying and wetting properties.
Peregal O-25, chemically named fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether, is a non-ionic surfactant. This product is made by condensation reaction of natural fatty alcohol and ethylene oxide, appearing as a white to slightly yellow flake or block solid, easily soluble in water. It has excellent emulsifying, dispersing, detergency, and leveling properties. The ether bond in the molecular structure is highly stable and not easily affected by acids, alkalis, and metal salts. It is an important auxiliary in textile printing and dyeing, daily chemical washing, pesticide emulsification, and other fields.
This product is a solid. It is recommended to dissolve it in hot water above 60℃ with stirring, or directly add it to high-temperature working solutions for dissolution. It is advisable to pre-prepare a stock solution for accurate metering and addition.
Used in combination with soda ash or phosphate auxiliaries, soaking or spray cleaning at 50–80℃ significantly removes oil and grease from metal surfaces.
Used as a compounding component with anionic emulsifiers to adjust the hydrophilic-lipophilic balance of mixed emulsifiers, enhancing the stability and spreading properties of pesticide emulsions.
Mainly used as an emulsifier and solubilizer. It is dissolved in the oil or water phase before emulsification, suitable for formulating creams, lotions, shampoos, and other products.
Peregal O-25 is mainly used as a non-ionic leveling agent, dispersant, and soaping agent in textile printing and dyeing. The longer polyoxyethylene segment in its molecule can effectively inhibit instantaneous dye uptake, providing excellent leveling effects for direct, vat, acid, and disperse dyes, preventing uneven dyeing and color difference, and enhancing color uniformity and brightness. In the post-treatment of reactive dye printing, serving as a soaping agent, it utilizes its high cloud point (>100℃) at high temperatures to strongly remove unfixed dye without re-staining. Recommended dosage is typically 0.2–1.0 g/L, with effective penetration and retarding functions.
With an HLB value of approximately 16.0–17.0 and hydrophilic emulsifying characteristics, Peregal O-25 is a core raw material for formulating high-efficiency metal degreasers and hard surface cleaners. It rapidly emulsifies mineral oil, paraffin, vegetable oil, and mechanical grease, forming stable oil-in-water (O/W) emulsions, especially suitable for spray, ultrasonic, and high-pressure hot water cleaning processes. It remains chemically stable in both acidic and alkaline cleaning solutions, and compounding with anionic surfactants produces synergistic effects, significantly enhancing detergency. It is also used as a low-foam emulsifying assistant in clean-in-place (CIP) systems for food processing equipment.
As a mild O/W emulsifier and solubilizer, Peregal O-25 is widely used in creams, lotions, shampoos, body washes, and makeup removers. It efficiently disperses and stabilizes water-insoluble ingredients such as oils and fragrances, imparting a fine texture and good spreadability. Due to its low irritation and high safety, it is also commonly used in baby care products and sensitive skin formulations, with excellent compatibility with various anionic and amphoteric surfactants, capable of formulating stable and transparent product systems. Recommended dosage is 0.5%–5.0%, meeting diverse needs from thin lotions to thick creams.
Peregal O-25 is used as an efficient wetting agent and softener in the paper industry. It significantly reduces the surface tension of pulp, promotes uniform fiber dispersion, reduces flocculation, and improves sheet formation and smoothness. In coated paper processing, as an auxiliary emulsifier, it stabilizes the coating system, prevents pigment reagglomeration, and enhances coating gloss and printability. Moreover, its good biodegradability meets the requirements of modern cleaner paper production.
As a non-ionic emulsifier and wetting penetrant, Peregal O-25 is suitable for formulating environmentally friendly pesticide formulations such as emulsion in water (EW), microemulsion (ME), and wettable powder (WP). It has good compatibility with anionic and non-ionic pesticide active ingredients, significantly improving the wetting and spreading ability of the spray solution on plant leaves and target surfaces, enhancing efficacy, improving cold and heat storage stability of formulations, and extending shelf life.
