Peregal O-25 (fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether) is a nonionic surfactant with stable chemical properties, resistant to acids, alkalis, and hard water. It can be widely compounded with anionic, cationic, and amphoteric surfactants. However, due to its solid form and certain irritation, standardized procedures must be followed in actual operation to avoid product waste or personal injury caused by improper handling. This product is mainly used in textile dyeing and printing for leveling and soaping, metal cleaning and degreasing, pesticide emulsification, cosmetic emulsification and solubilization, and papermaking sizing. The recommended dosages vary greatly by application: for textile leveling, it is typically 0.2–1.0 g/L; in cosmetics, the recommended dosage is 0.5%–5.0%. During use, precise metering should be carried out according to specific process requirements to avoid over-additions.
Peregal O-25 is a white to slightly yellow flake or block solid. It is recommended to dissolve it by stirring in hot water above 60°C, or directly add it into a high-temperature working solution for dissolution. To improve usage accuracy, it is advisable to pre-configure a stock solution for convenient subsequent metering and addition. During the dissolution process, ensure thorough stirring to prevent localized high concentration that may cause caking.
During operation, ensure good ventilation in the workplace and avoid inhaling spray or vapors. Operators must wear chemical safety goggles, protective gloves, and protective clothing. Eating, drinking, or smoking is strictly prohibited during operation. After operation, thoroughly wash hands and any body parts that may have come into contact. The workplace should be equipped with emergency eyewash stations and safety showers to deal with emergencies.
The product should be stored in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated warehouse. The recommended storage temperature is 5°C to 40°C. Below 5°C, turbidity or solidification may occur. After warming to room temperature and stirring evenly, it can still be used normally without affecting product quality. Containers must be kept sealed to prevent moisture absorption and contamination, and kept away from strong oxidizers, strong acids, strong bases, as well as food, feed, and drinking water sources. The storage area should be equipped with leak-proof facilities, with slip-resistant and corrosion-resistant flooring.
During transportation, pay attention to covering to prevent sun exposure, rain, and moisture. This product is non-toxic and non-flammable, and shall be transported under general chemical transportation conditions. Under specified storage and transportation conditions, the shelf life is 24 months from the date of production. If it exceeds the shelf life and passes re-inspection, it can still be used.
Immediately remove contaminated clothing and rinse skin with plenty of water and soap for at least 15 minutes. If irritation persists, seek medical attention. Contaminated clothing must be washed before reuse.
Lift eyelids and immediately rinse thoroughly with plenty of water or saline for at least 15 minutes. If persistent discomfort or irritation occurs, seek medical attention immediately.
Move the patient to fresh air and keep the respiratory tract clear. If feeling unwell, seek medical attention.
Rinse mouth immediately with water. Do NOT induce vomiting. Drink an appropriate amount of water to dilute stomach contents, seek medical attention immediately and present the product safety instructions or chemical labels.
Peregal O-25 is harmful to aquatic life with long-lasting effects (GHS Acute Category 3, Chronic Category 3). Do not discharge into water bodies or the environment. In case of spillage, small spills should be absorbed with inert absorbent materials (such as sand, vermiculite) and collected in closed containers; large spills need diking to prevent entry into sewers or water bodies. Waste disposal should follow local regulations, incineration is recommended or hand over to qualified waste treatment agencies. When firefighting, use water spray, foam, dry powder, or carbon dioxide extinguishing agents; avoid straight water streams. Firefighting wastewater must be collected to prevent contamination.
