Peregal O-25 (CAS No.: 68439-49-6) is a classic nonionic surfactant product manufactured by Guoli Chemical. It appears as a white to pale yellow flake or block solid with a melting point of approximately 35–40°C, and is readily soluble in water, ethanol, acetone and other organic solvents. Its molecular structure consists of a natural long-chain fatty alcohol (C16-18) condensed with 25 units of ethylene oxide (EO), having a molecular weight of about 1,354 g/mol. The long polyoxyethylene chain imparts strong hydrophilicity and surface activity. It forms clear solutions in water with a high HLB value of 16.0–17.0, making it a highly hydrophilic O/W (oil-in-water) emulsifier. Its cloud point is as high as 91–96°C, enabling it to maintain excellent surface activity in high-temperature processes. The active ingredient content is ≥99%, with free alcohol content ≤1.0%, ensuring stable and reliable quality.
This product is nonionic and its ether bond structure is highly stable, unaffected by acids, alkalis, hard water, and metal salts, thus possessing excellent chemical stability. It can be widely compounded with anionic, cationic, and zwitterionic surfactants, demonstrating very strong compatibility. Due to its high purity and low irritation, it is also suitable for cosmetic and personal care formulations. The product is packaged in 20 kg woven bags, with a shelf life of 24 months. The recommended storage temperature is 5–40°C. It is non-toxic and non-flammable, and can be transported as a general chemical.

Peregal O-25 has an extremely wide range of applications: In textile printing and dyeing, it acts as a leveling agent to effectively suppress instantaneous dye uptake, preventing color unevenness and shade variation. It provides excellent leveling performance for direct dyes, vat dyes, acid dyes and disperse dyes. The recommended dosage is 0.2–1.0 g/L. It can also be used as a soaping agent at 80–95°C to remove loose color without redeposition. In industrial cleaning and metal degreasing, it has a strong emulsifying and dispersing effect on mineral oils, animal/vegetable oils and waxes, suitable for spray, ultrasonic and high-pressure hot water cleaning processes. In cosmetics and personal care products, as a mild O/W emulsifier and solubilizer, it can be applied in creams, lotions, shampoos, shower gels and makeup removers, with a recommended dosage of 0.5%–5.0%. Its low irritation also makes it suitable for baby care products and sensitive skin formulations. In pesticide formulations, it is suitable for preparing emulsions in water (EW), microemulsions (ME) and wettable powders (WP), improving storage stability under hot and cold conditions. In the paper industry, it serves as a wetting agent and softener, promoting uniform fiber dispersion and improving sheet formation.
Before use, it is recommended to dissolve in hot water above 60°C with stirring, or to prepare a stock solution in advance for convenient metering and addition. In practical applications, it can be flexibly compounded with anionic and cationic surfactants according to formulation requirements to achieve synergistic enhancement effects.
