Peregal O-25 is a white to slightly yellow flake or block solid, belonging to the nonionic surfactant category. The polyoxyethylene chain segments in its molecule impart excellent emulsifying, dispersing, leveling, and cleaning properties. Because the ether bonds in its chemical structure are highly stable, it is resistant to acid, alkali, hard water, and metal salts, and can be well compounded with anionic, cationic, and zwitterionic surfactants. Depending on the application scenario, the usage method can be either directly dissolving it in a high-temperature working bath or preparing a stock solution beforehand.
In the textile printing and dyeing field, Peregal O-25 is mainly used as a leveling agent and soaping agent. When used as a leveling agent, it should be added to the dyebath at the beginning of dyeing. Its long polyoxyethylene chains slow down the dye uptake rate, effectively preventing uneven dyeing and color differences. When used as a soaping agent/anti-staining agent, treatment at 80–95°C for 10–20 minutes can powerfully remove unfixed dye and prevent staining of white grounds. In metal cleaning and degreasing, it is combined with alkalis such as sodium carbonate or phosphates, and used in immersion or spray cleaning at 50–80°C, demonstrating significant removal of mineral oils, animal fats, and vegetable oils.
In the daily chemical and pesticide fields, Peregal O-25 serves as an O/W emulsifier and solubilizer. It can be dissolved in the oil phase or water phase before emulsification for formulation. In pesticide formulations, it is used in combination with anionic emulsifiers to adjust the system's hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB approximately 16.0–17.0), enhancing emulsion stability and spreading properties.
