Peregal O-25, chemically named fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene (25) ether (also known as octadecyl alcohol polyoxyethylene (25) ether, polyoxyethylene (25) octadecyl ether), with CAS number 68439-49-6, is a nonionic surfactant. The ether bonds in its molecular structure are highly stable, resistant to acids, alkalis, and metal salts, providing excellent tolerance to acids, alkalis, hard water, and metal salts. It is widely compatible with anionic, cationic, and amphoteric surfactants, exhibiting strong formulation compatibility.
The product appears as a white to slightly yellow flaky or block solid, with an HLB value of approximately 16.0–17.0, a cloud point above 100°C, strong hydrophilicity, and good surface activity even at high temperatures. It has moderate foam volume, easy to rinse, facilitating water and energy conservation. It also has good biodegradability, meeting the requirements of modern clean production.
1. Textile Dyeing and Printing Industry (Core Application): As a nonionic leveling agent, dispersant, and soaping agent, it provides excellent leveling effects for direct dyes, vat dyes, acid dyes, and disperse dyes, slowing down the dyeing rate to prevent color spots and color differences. In reactive dye printing post-treatment, it acts as a soaping agent, using its high cloud point at high temperatures to effectively remove unfixed dyes without redeposition. The recommended dosage is typically 0.2–1.0 g/L.
2. Industrial and Household Cleaning: It is a key raw material for formulating high-performance metal degreasers and hard surface cleaners. It quickly emulsifies mineral oils, paraffin waxes, vegetable oils, and mechanical greases, forming stable oil-in-water (O/W) emulsions, suitable for spray, ultrasonic, and high-pressure hot water cleaning processes. It remains chemically stable in both acidic and alkaline cleaning solutions.
3. Cosmetics and Personal Care Products: As a mild O/W emulsifier and solubilizer, it is widely used in creams, lotions, shampoos, body washes, and makeup removers. It has low irritation and high safety, making it suitable for baby care products and sensitive skin formulations. The recommended dosage is 0.5%–5.0%.
4. Pesticide Formulation Processing: Suitable for preparing environmentally friendly pesticide formulations such as emulsions in water (EW), microemulsions (ME), and wettable powders (WP). It significantly improves the wetting and spreading ability of spray solutions on plant leaves and target surfaces, enhancing efficacy and improving the cold and hot storage stability of the formulation.
5. Paper Sizing and Coating: Used as an efficient wetting agent and softener, promoting uniform fiber dispersion and improving paper sheet uniformity and smoothness. In coated paper processing, it serves as a co-emulsifier to stabilize the coating system, improving gloss and printability of the coating.

Dissolution Method: This product is solid. It is recommended to dissolve in hot water above 60°C with stirring, or directly add to high-temperature working solution. It is advisable to pre-prepare a stock solution for accurate metering and addition.
Textile Dyeing and Printing: Add to the dye bath at the beginning of dyeing; dosage varies depending on dye concentration and fabric type. For soaping, treat at 80–95°C for 10–20 minutes to effectively remove unfixed dyes and prevent staining on white backgrounds.
Metal Cleaning: Use in combination with soda ash or phosphate builders, soak or spray cleaning at 50–80°C, effectively removing grease from metal surfaces.
Blending Usage: Can be widely blended with anionic, cationic, and amphoteric surfactants to produce synergistic effects and enhance overall performance.
